Howell and Brighton squared off in another epic chapter of their long storied rivalry with Howell getting 2 late interceptions to seal a 14-13 victory. Let's take a look at a few Howell prospects that stood out on Friday night when the lights could get no brighter.

Bryce was an absolute force on both sides of the ball for the highlanders and made the play of the game when he blocked a Brighton extra point to keep the Highlanders up 14-13 which ended up being the final score. Offensively Bryce ran the ball hard and picked up multiple first downs to keep drives alive. Bryce has very good vision and seems to fall forward at the end of every carry. Bryce got the scoring rolling on Howell's first drive making a very tight cut squaring his shoulders up and powering in off right tackle. On the defensive side of the ball this senior linebacker was all over the field. The future Clemson Tiger has very good instincts and seems to be in the right place at the right time on every snap. I am extremely impressed with Bryces ability to get side line to side line and run ball carriers down. I also was impressed with Bryces abilities in the pass game. He was very solid in coverage and he proved to be a complete linebacker. Howell football plays a tough brand of football and Bryce embodies the program perfectly.

Jack was fantastic all night in Howell's wing -T offense and made a few very impressive runs. I was really impressed with Jacks vision and patience he ran with as he allowed his offensive line to get on there blocks and set holes for this junior back to scamper through. Jack has very good speed but also has some wiggle to his game and did a nice job bouncing the ball to the outside when a play broke down a bit to pick up a few additional yards. Jack also was not afraid to stick his nose and and throw blocks or to continue to carry a fake out to keep a defense of balance. Jack was very impressive all night and is a back to keep an eye on as Howell hits the playoffs. He is a part of a very dangerous backfield and needs to be accounted for on every play as he can house a football from ant where on the field.

Tyler was a monster from his blocking tight end position and was a big reason Howell had success on the ground. This future Heidelberg Student Prince was a menace for the Bulldogs all night as he pushed Brighton's front 7 around to create creases for his backs. This was my first time seeing Tyler in person and I was very impressed withy Tylers twitch he plays with. Tyler was very quick of the ball and showed excellent power as he locked on to defenders and drove them off the line of scrimmage. Tyler also showed good feet and was able to get execute combo blocks and get to the second level to put a helmet on a linebacker. Tyler is very impressive and has a very high motor. Heidelberg is getting a very good football player and I suspect he makes some noise as the regular season winds down and he and his highlander teammates gear up for the playoffs.

Palmer was very impressive for Howell as he does as good of job as any high school quarterback I have seen at running the Wing -T offense. Palmer was a magician with the ball as he had Brighton guessing on multiple plays on who had the ball. Palmer was not asked to throw the ball a lot due to Howell's success on the ground so his numbers are not a true reflection on how good Palmer played. Palmer has good size at 6'2 and 200 plus pounds. On a few plays palmer pulled the ball and picked up tough yards and was not afraid to drop a shoulder and pick up crucial yards. Palmer is a player that runs a very run friendly offense but make no mistake he can sling it when asked and that part of his game should not be overlooked.

Alex was a player that popped out all night for the Howell defense as he was a major reason that Howell was able to neutralize a very dangerous Brighton offense. Alex has very good instincts and was making plays all night around the line of scrimmage. I like Alex's ability to drop into coverage and make plays on the ball or not give the Brighton Qb anything to throw through. But no play was bigger than Alex's interception to secure the win for Howell with just under 2 minutes left when Alex read the eyes of the Brighton Qb got good depth and picked a pass off jumping a crossing route. Alex was very good all night and made a great play on senior night to secure a massive win in a very highly contested contest.
