Week 5 Explosive Running Back Performances

We've seen some good running back production from different tail backs this season. Below are 5 prospects that had clutch performances coming out of the backfield in week 5. Brayden had an absolute monster performance in his teams 40-16 week 5 win. He is a taller back who gains a lot of downhill momentum coming out of the pistol. Kozlowski was able to have tons of success without needing to run behind any pulling lineman. Which to me shows he can lean on his own skill to create chunk plays without huge gaping holes. With his stature and playstyle, Kozlowski was a load to bring down. But He also showed some really good wiggle and agility to avoid tackles around the line of scrimmage. What impressed me the most about this outstanding performance was Braydens ability to pull away from defenders with his speed downfield. He finished with 235 rush yards and 5 TDs while averaging almost 8 yards per carry. Kaelin had a wonderful week 5 performance leading his team to a big win. He plays in the straight T, an offense sometimes known for its trickeration, but Tate didn't need any gimmicks, just the pill in his hands. He was able to get outside on sweeps and pitches where he turned those into huge gains. One a 22 yard TD the two others went for 55 and 25 yards respectively. Tate boasted good speed and juke moves every single time he touched the ball. His versatility was on full display as well. As the defense began to crowd the line to corral him in, he was able to slip past defenders on the corner route multiple times for some big plays. He had a spectacular one handed catch on the sideline that looked effortless. Tate finished the game with 188 rushing yards and a TD. As well as 3 catches for 49 yards and a TD. Jeremiah had himself a great night, nearly averaging a first down every single time he carried the rock. He has the prototypical build of an elite running back, and a nice forward leaning running style to go with it. Jeremiah did a lot of damage on split zone. Pressing the A and B gap before sticking his foot in the ground and accelerating for huge gains. I was very impressed with his ball carrier vision, both downfield and between the tackles as he was able to maneuver around defenders effortlessly. Edwards Tate finished with 240 rushing yards and 2 TDs on just 26 carries. Jayshawn looked like a man amongst boys rumbling out of the backfield with the ball in his hands. Whether he was taking a handoff or catching a direct snap it was nearly impossible for one defender to bring him down. He was productive on multiple different run concepts, but his best success came behind his pullers on the counter play. I wouldn't consider Craig a burner but he did a great job of bouncing runs and getting to the outside with the speed he does have. He was also able to separate from defenders downfield. Jayshawn ended the game with 126 rushing yards as well as 2 sacks, 5 tackles and 1 TFL on the defensive side of the ball. Jeremiah has been a versatile RB this season and he continued that trend in week 5. He showed really good patience and vision getting behind his offensive line before receiving screen passes and breaking them for 15+ yards. On the ground he did damage between the tackles and on outside runs. Whitley has a smaller stature but I like that he continued to fight for yards upon first contact. Jeremiah found the endzone once when he beat the defender in a foot race to the pylon. He also accounted for 129 total yards while averaging 6.3 yards per carry.
