Week 2 Stat Sheet Stuffers

Every Friday night somewhere in the state of Michigan an athlete is having a breakout game or a monster individual performance. Below is a handful of prospects that put together a great body of work in week 2!    Ethan has been on an absolute heater to begin the season and somehow his week 2 performance was even better than his previous one. Kings running style is perfect for the Belding offense. He is a North and South runner with good forward lean and enough straight-line speed to beat defenders in a footrace to the endzone. When he did get caught, he did a wonderful job of finishing off his runs falling forward if possible. Ethan finished with 317 yards and 6 TDs on the ground. He did a lot of damage attacking the C gap on the power sweep. He also had success beating defenders to the edge on their counter schemes.     [player_tooltip player_id='2255698' first='Finn' last='Galloway'] has been the bona fide go to guy for his Holland offense. He is another prospect who topped a great week 1 performance in week 2. He opened up the game scoring his teams first TD on their first drive with a beautiful corner route where he sold the post. From there, he continued to be QB friendly, gliding his way through different coverages getting to his spots. He showcased his ability high point the football downfield while also doing some great work in the intermediate areas. Galloway hauled in an astonishing 16 Receptions for 273 yards and 4 TDs. If that wasn't enough, he also added 1 rushing TD he scored from 18 yards out.     Charlies week 2 performance is exactly what you want out of your Senior quarterback whether it results in a win or a loss. He put the team on his back, throwing 42 times and hitting on a 62% clip. King did a great job of standing tall in the pocket and delivering accurate balls downfield with immense pressure in his face. When that pressure became too much, he was able to roll right and left where he also had success. He played with great confidence as you can see him trusting his offensive line and receivers, letting the ball go with perfect timing and anticipation. Charlie finished 26/42 for 264 yards and a TD through the air. He was also a menace on the ground rushing for 101 yards and another TD.     [player_tooltip player_id='1291369' first='Donavan' last='Jones'] has been a centerpiece of East Kentwood's secondary for multiple years now. You can tell by how comfortably he plays the rover position. He is as sure of a tackler as I have seen in a long time which is how he finished with 12 total tackles against a very good BC offense. They could not get away from his as he was literally everywhere defensively. He came away with 1 forced fumble, 1 tackle for loss and 2 pass breakups. That stat line alone speaks volumes to Donavan's versatility on the defensive side of the ball.     [player_tooltip player_id='1154968' first='Bishop' last='Pelton'] is an absolute dawg at MLB and I believe he plays the position the correct way. He is undersized but his IQ and motor make up for whatever his is missing. Pelton trusted his eyes and was quick to trigger when he saw run. From there he immediately got downhill to corral the EK ball carriers. He just played against a really good group of receivers and did a good job of getting to his zones, keeping his head on a swivel and picking up underneath routes. Pelton is a thumper who is not afraid of contact, he forced a huge fumble for the Byron Center defense. Aside from that, he had 1 TFL and 10 overall tackles.
