Romeo Bulldogs Week 1 Prospect Standouts:

Romeo and Rochester Adams squared off in a physical tilt that saw Romeo outlast the Highlanders in a game under the lights in the Big house in Ann Arbor. Let's take a look at some Romeo players who popped on the field and why I think Romeo may have the best linebacking chore in the state.    Antonio was a player who has worked really hard to reshape his body and become a more physical linebacker for Romeo and let's just say mission accomplished. Antonio was excellent all night in helping shut down an extremely potent rushing attack that Adams brings to the field. Antonio recorded double digit tackles and was in on multiple big hits. One thing that really stood out was Antonio's ability to get side line to side line and make plays. Antonio took open lead blockers and pulling guards all night but did not give up any ground in the process. Antonio scraps down the line well and detects plays quickly. In a class of excellent linebackers in the 2028 class Antonio has taken a back seat to none.     Troy showed up early and often for Romeo before getting knock out of the game with an apparent shoulder injury. I was impressed with troy's explosiveness and straight line speed that Troy plays with. Troy took a handoff and bolted off left tackle, made one quick cut and housed a 54 yard touchdown that got Romeo off and rolling. Troy finished with over 100 yards of offense in the first quarter alone and show how dynamic he can be with the ball in his hands. Troy also is an excellent corner back and did a nice job covering wide outs and coming up in run support. Keep an eye on troy when he is able to get back to the field. Romeo is a dangerous football team and troy is a difference maker for them.     Jayden is a dynamic linebacker and did an excellent job for Romeo in there win Saturday night against Rochester Adams. Jayden flew all over the field and racked up 10 tackles in the game and did it in a variety of ways. Jayden plays down hill and made various big hits at a the line of scrimmage. Jayden was also a very effect blitzing from various angles and putting constant pressure on the Adams signal callers. Jayden provides senior leadership and is a big reason Romeo can make a serious push at a title run this year.     Landen was impressive on both sides of the ball for the bulldogs in there big win. As a linebacker Landen was a constant thorn in the side of the Highlanders and proved to be unblockable all night. Landen used excellent speed and natural instincts to make a mess of the opposing teams blocking schemes. Landen also totes the rock on offense and made multiple big plays with the ball in his hands. He put his head down and ran behind his pads and got tough yards in crucial spots for the Bulldogs. Romeo boast one of the better defenses in the state and Landen is a big part of this success.     I have been a big fan of Shane's since seeing him this summer. I was impressed with Shane's ability to stay engaged as a tightened even though he did not get the ball thrown his was much. Shane was a physical blocker and was able to get ends and linebackers out of position will good technique. I was also impressed with Shane on the defensive side of the ball. He was a menace from his defensive end spot and was very disruptive to the Adams offense all night. Shane plays with a very high motor and has an excellent first step that allowed his to get in the back field on multiple occasions. I walked away very impressed with Shane and his ability to affect the game in a variety of ways whether on the offensive or defensive side of the ball.
