Two weeks into the Texas high school football season, the heat has been at an all time high around the state. Week three gives prospects across the Lone Star State another opportunity to turn early season success into recruiting momentum. From highly ranked recruits to emerging underclassmen and overlooked playmakers beginning to make a name for themselves, the next round of games could provide another week of film and evaluation. We spotlight several players who will be key playmakers for their teams in week three.

Bomar was a big reason that the Eagles bounced back from a week one loss to get in the win column with a 55-27 win over Terrell. He finished with 8 solo tackles, 4 unassisted and a forced fumble. Bomar has great instincts, his ability to read, diagnose and attack offenses to make plays for losses allows him to play all three downs. His ability to strike, shed and locate the football enables him to be disruptive. Bomar is one to watch on week three.

Snell has the range to make plays from sideline to sideline and he plays the pass with a ballhawk mentality. Snell plays behind his pads, he is a sure tackler in the open field and his heavy hitting style allows him to play the run with physicality. His Indians take on Denton Guyer this week, in matchup between top five teams and Snell will definitely be one to watch in this matchup.

Olotu-Judah is technically sound, he has clean footwork, he transitions into his backpedal smoothly and his ability to plant and go with receivers enables him to shut down passing lanes. He is a sticky defender who uses his length well at engagement to stymie receivers in press coverage and this allows him to get them off of their axis early in their routes. In a week win over Dickinson, Olotu-Judah had 3 interceptions, making big plays for the Tigers defensively. Keep an eye on him this week as the Tigers open up district play against Tompkins.

Carter is a body target who has elite body control, he has the skill set to win the 50/50 jump ball and he has the speed to stretch the field. In week two he had 7 catches for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns. He showed the ability to win his matchups in double coverage and his strong hands enabled him to be a reliable target often. Look for Carter to be a featured weapon this week against Pasadena Memorial.

Hinson is a major reason that the Mustangs are off to a 2-0 start to the season. He has a big arm with skill set to make throws at a high completion rate in the short to intermediate zones and his deep ball touch allows him to stretch the field. Hinson has superb pocket mobility, he navigates the rush well and his excellent field vision enables him to complete passes on the move routinely. Hinson had a monster week two performance, throwing for 338 yards and 6 touchdowns. With a key matchup against Deer Park this week, Hinson is a prospect to keep an eye on heading into week three.

Folkerts is a prospect that coaches need to get eyes on. He has a lean, athletic frame with an extended reach that enables him to keep blockers at arms length at engagement. Jack has an explosive first step, he has the ability to bend and dip through contact, finishing at his target with violent intentions. He moves to various positions within the Walnut Grove defense, whether he is coming off the edge or lining up at linebacker, Folkerts is on the attack from all angles. The junior is a big reason that Walnut Grove is 2-0 through two weeks, pitching a a shutout against Hebron in week two. He will be on college boards before the season is done as a prospect who has next level talent.
