About Carter
Expert Analysis
Marcus Henry | Prep Redzone Scout
Carter is a big body target who is threat to score from any down or distance in the passing game. He is a gifted runner who can take a jet sweep to the house for six. He explodes of the ball at the snap, he has the speed to take the top off of the defense and he can work the short to intermediate zones effectively with his superb route running skills. In his most recent outing in the Mavericks opening scrimmage, St. Junious torched the defense, hauling in 6 receptions for 190 yards and two touchdowns, putting his explosive game on full display. FAU, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Texas, UCLA and Tulsa are just a handful of the double digit offers that Carter has picked up during the offseason. St. Junious is one of the fastest rising prospects in the 2028 class in Texas and he will be a key cog in the Manvel attack this season.

There’s no question Carter is one of the premier deep threats in the district. His film shows a receiver who can stretch the field, stack defensive backs, and make defenses pay whenever the ball is thrown over the top. He has the speed to separate vertically and the ability to track the football with confidence. What I’m most excited to see this season is the continued growth of his route tree. As he expands his ability to win on intermediate and underneath routes, he’ll become an even tougher matchup and a more complete receiver capable of impacting every level of the field. Carter holds offers from Miami, California, Florida State, Texas Tech and more.

St. Junious has shown to be a well polished receiver early in his football career, having the ideal size at 6’3 and possessing incredible hands. He has tremendous ball skills, tracking the ball in the air and displaying a large catch radius for his QB. St. Junious snags anything in his vicinity and uses his size to his advantage, out-jumping and winning on 50-50 throws. He is a mismatch on the outside versus any defender and a player who will make defenses pay for single coverage especially near the endzone.
Last season St. Junious racked up 585 yards and 5 touchdowns on 40 catches. He is capable of taking over games and being the guy when needed. The talent is clear and the future is bright for him.

Carter has been highly productive this season, posting 33 receptions for 529 yards and 7 touchdowns, and his tape shows a receiver who brings a well-rounded skill set to the field.
What stands out first is how instinctive he is in his routes. Carter has a natural feel for spacing and coverage, allowing him to consistently uncover whether it’s against man or zone. He’s fluid in and out of his breaks, keeps his pad level low, and doesn’t give defensive backs many chances to recover once he gains leverage.
He’s also a strong finisher at the catch point. Carter extends well away from his frame, secures the ball cleanly, and shows toughness when working through contact. In contested situations, he competes and doesn’t shy away from physical play, which adds another layer to his game.
With the ball in his hands, he’s efficient and decisive. Carter gets upfield quickly, shows enough burst to separate from defenders, and understands how to maximize yardage after the catch without overcomplicating things.
Holding 26 offers from programs like Baylor, Miami, LSU, Missouri, Oregon, TCU, Texas Tech, and Tulane, Carter has clearly established himself as a priority recruit. His combination of awareness, consistency, and playmaking upside makes him a name that continues to trend upward.
