He follows Michael Knudsen, who threw for a Class B state-record 3,690 yards last season before moving on to Northwest Missouri State. An outstanding stat line after 3 games:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>43-59, 651 yards, 73% completion rate, 6 TDs, 1 int, 135.6 QBR.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Walters delivered his biggest performance yet against crosstown rival Gretna East, throwing for 263 yards and three touchdowns as the Dragons jumped out to a 24-0 halftime lead and rolled to a 38-14 victory. The win snapped Gretna's three-game losing streak against East, flipping the latest chapter of the rivalry back in the Dragons' favor. Walters has some big shoes to fill, but the senior looks more than comfortable running the show. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1086174' first='Henry' last='Hildebrand'] | Gretna | Sr. | TE/OLB | 6'4", 205</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A Washburn University commit, Hildebrand was arguably the best all-around player on the field. The 6-foot-4 senior was a disruptive presence off the edge, recording 2 tackles for loss, including a sack, 4 tackles total and consistently created problems in the backfield.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He was just as impactful offensively, hauling in a 40-yard touchdown reception and adding another 32-yard catch. Overall, 4 catches for 94 yards and one touchdown. With his size, length and two-way production, Hildebrand put together an impressive performance on both sides of the football. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1818746' first='Talon' last='Daharsh'] | Gretna | Sr. | WR/SS | 6'0", 180</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Daharsh provided one of the biggest plays of the night, breaking loose for an 84-yard touchdown reception and reaching the 100-yard receiving mark by halftime. Six catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns! His speed and big-play ability gave Gretna another dangerous weapon in the passing game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Daharsh's impact wasn't limited to offense. Playing safety, he showed his physicality with several big hits and was an active presence on the back end. He contributed on defense with 4 tackles. His ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball stood out in an impressive all-around performance. A three-way scoring night: 22 carriers, 115 yards and a touchdown rushing. 3 catches, 23 yards and a touchdown. A 35-yard touchdown pass. Schlotfeld also had 9 tackles. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At 5-foot-9 and 215 pounds, Schlotfeld brings a linebacker's physicality to the running back position. He consistently picked up six, seven and eight yards at a time, while also showing the toughness to convert when Gretna needed the difficult yards in short-yardage situations. His downhill running style helped keep Gretna ahead of the chains and played an important role in sustaining drives.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A middle linebacker defensively, Schlotfeld gives the Dragons another physical two-way presence. His 9 tackles led the Dragons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1614329' first='Max' last='Brewer'] | Gretna | Jr. | K | 5'11", 165</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brewer put together an impressive night in the kicking game, drilling a 48-yard field goal and finishing a perfect 5-for-5 on extra points, accounting for eight points in the victory.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 48-yarder at the high school level gets your attention. Haverty displayed good movement, has very good size and had a knack of being around the ball. With the frame to build on, he looks like a next level backer. At 5-foot-11 and 215 pounds, he plays with a physical, downhill style and has the look of a heat-seeking middle linebacker.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cote is also a multi-sport athlete who wrestles and competes in track, and that athletic background shows in how he moves and plays through contact.
