The junior linebacker led the Storm with 10 total tackles, including six solo stops, and also forced a fumble. Hoskinson plays with a physical downhill style and showed a good nose for the football, consistently finding his way into the action. He was a key piece of an Elkhorn South defense that kept the Storm within striking distance throughout the night. A flat out tackling machine. Only a Jr!

https://www.hudl.com/profile/23201902/Jake-Hoskinson

Newman was another active piece of an impressive Elkhorn South linebacker group. The senior finished with six solo tackles and a sack for a nine-yard loss. Newman showed good timing attacking downhill and the ability to get into the backfield. While not the biggest linebacker at 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, his activity, toughness and ability to finish plays stood out in a defensive battle.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/19737005/Owen-Newman

[player_tooltip player_id='1105197' first='Mason' last='Miralles'] | LB | 5'11", 215 | 2027

Miralles brought size and physicality to the middle of the Storm defense. The 5-foot-11, 215-pound senior recorded four tackles, including three solo stops, and was part of a linebacker unit that made Papillion-La Vista South work for its 17 points. Miralles showed a sturdy presence around the box and complemented the activity of Hoskinson and Newman in a strong overall performance by the Storm linebackers. Definitely can play next level!

Papillion-La Vista South

[player_tooltip player_id='2230521' first='Chester' last='Mendoza'] | RB | 5'10", 175 | 2027

Mendoza turned in a monster all-around performance and was the offensive catalyst in Papillion-La Vista South's 17-14 victory. The senior carried 17 times for 78 yards while adding a team-high 11 receptions for 74 yards and both of the Titans' touchdowns. That gave Mendoza 152 yards from scrimmage on 28 touches, as he consistently provided a reliable option both on the ground and out of the backfield. In a game where points were difficult to come by, Mendoza accounted for both Papio South touchdowns. Shifty, great hands and good size!

https://www.hudl.com/profile/19422284/Chester-Mendoza

[player_tooltip player_id='1296778' first='Colin' last='Raybourn'] | QB | 6'3", 205 | 2027

A Sioux Falls commit, Raybourn was efficient and composed directing the Titans' offense against a tough Elkhorn South defense. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound senior completed 25 of 33 passes for 225 yards, connecting on nearly 76 percent of his attempts. Raybourn showed command of the passing game, distributed the football to multiple targets and consistently took what the defense gave him to help keep the Titans moving in a tightly contested game. Great size and pocket awareness!

[player_tooltip player_id='1192421' first='Pierson' last='Ivener'] | TE | 6'3", 215 | 2027

Ivener gave Raybourn a big and dependable target in the passing game. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound senior tight end caught eight passes for 68 yards, averaging 8.5 yards per reception with a long of 23. His eight receptions were second on the team, and he repeatedly found openings as a reliable short-to-intermediate target. His combination of size, hands and production makes Ivener a tight end worth keeping an eye on this season. Ivener is one of the best TEs in the state!

[player_tooltip player_id='1296780' first='Michelangelo' last='Johnson'] | K/P | 6'0", 210 | 2027

Johnson's performance proved decisive in a game separated by just three points. The senior kicker was perfect on the night, converting both PAT attempts and connecting on his lone field-goal opportunity from 37 yards. Johnson accounted for five points, and with both teams scoring two touchdowns, his field goal ultimately provided the difference in the Titans' 17-14 victory. In a game where every scoring opportunity mattered, Johnson delivered each time he was called upon. #60 showed a lot of energy on the night!!

For more coverage, evaluation and information, follow:

https://x.com/NebrPrepRedZone
