The Section V season is only about two weeks away. There are going to be top players at each position who are going to work hard to prove they belong at the top in Section V. These are my predictions for the first-team players who should come out with All-Star selections at their positions.

First Team QB:

No doubt that the number one ranked QB is [player_tooltip player_id='668381' first='Pooty' last='Cunningham'] from James Monroe. We know the arm strength that Cunnighham possesses. The ability to push the ball down the field and make accurate throws is present. Cunningham is going to be an electric playmaker that connects on 35+ balls often. Altogether, he will use his legs to extend plays with fast moves in open space.

Great team scrimmages last week!! Walker has a tremendous amount of length, which is evident in his wingspan. Above all, he is a playmaker that makes incredible catches on the outside, including a number of 50/50 jump balls. Tracking down ball carriers all across the field is a major standout in his game and is why he had 66 tackles this past season. The ability to make plays on the football was one of Maurer's strongest traits, as he had 6 INTs and 11 PBUs this past season. Significantly, he will read the QB's eyes with a high amount of proficiency. Swatting down balls over the middle and making diving tackles is a keynote to make him the top CB in Section V.

[player_tooltip player_id='2328219' first='Jake' last='Maurer']
C/o 2027
6'2 170 lbs DB
6 ints
11 PBUs
35 Tkls

Junior Year DB highlights here: pic.twitter.com/HmMk6ZR1A3
— [player_tooltip player_id='2328219' first='Jake' last='Maurer'] (@jake_maurerr) December 22, 2025

First Team RB:

This was a close debate on the top RB in Section V, but I see [player_tooltip player_id='1563822' first='Imani' last='Wagstaff'] taking the spot. Finding open lanes with his ball carrier vision was a major strength, granting Wagstaff the chance to come away with large gains. The Section V season is only about two weeks away. There are going to be top players at each position who are going to work hard to prove they belong at the top in Section V. These are my predictions for the first-team players who should come out with All-Star selections at their positions.

No doubt that the number one ranked QB is Pooty Cunningham Pooty Cunningham Pooty Cunningham 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB James Monroe | 2027 State NY from James Monroe. We know the arm strength that Cunnighham possesses. The ability to push the ball down the field and make accurate throws is present. Cunningham is going to be an electric playmaker that connects on 35+ balls often. Altogether, he will use his legs to extend plays with fast moves in open space.

I am going to take Zahmar Tookes Zahmar Tookes Zahmar Tookes 6'5" | 250 lbs | DL Brighton | 2027 State NY here, who is committed to the University of Florida. Coming into this season, Tookes is going to have to continue to penetrate the interior of the line. In like manner, he has the talent to line up in multiple techniques, and his speed is going to allow him to make plays. This season, Brighton will see Tookes as a force to wrap up his High School career.
