Private schools across Texas continue to produce talented players who are ready to make their names known this season. From emerging underclassmen to proven veterans coming off strong campaigns, this group features players who bring different skill sets and playmaking ability to the field. With the season approaching, these private school standouts are worth keeping an eye on as they look to take the next step, help their teams make a run and put themselves on the radar of college programs.

Nico enters the season with an opportunity to take control of the offense and show how much his game has developed. He has the ability to keep plays alive when the pocket starts to collapse, giving his offense another way to move the chains when the first option is no longer available. As the year progresses, I'll be watching his consistency as a passer, particularly his ability to make throws on time and stay composed when defenses bring pressure. If Nico can put those pieces together, he has a chance to turn this season into a major step forward and establish himself as a quarterback to watch.

Colin is a linebacker who has a chance to become one of the more dependable pieces of his defense this season. He plays with good awareness around the ball and does a nice job working through traffic to get himself in position to make a stop. His ability to stay disciplined while still attacking the play gives him a solid foundation to build from.

Levi has an opportunity to become a bigger factor in the passing game this season. He does a good job creating space with his route tempo and gives the quarterback a target who can work across different areas of the field. What stands out is his ability to adjust once the ball is in the air, allowing him to make plays on throws that are not always perfectly placed.

Tom is a running back I'll be watching closely this season because he has an opportunity to carve out a bigger role in the offense. He runs with patience, allowing his blocks to develop before accelerating through the opening, and he has enough burst to turn a well-timed cut into a chunk play. I also like his ability to keep the run moving when the first lane closes, which can be valuable over the course of a game.

Braylon has an opportunity to take a major step forward this season and become one of the players his offense leans on week after week. I expect to see him take on a bigger role in the running game, especially in situations where the offense needs someone who can turn limited space into positive yardage. As the season progresses, he should have more chances to showcase his burst, vision and ability to finish runs.

AB San Diego State commit, he enters the season with a clear opportunity to finish his high school career on his own terms. He has already earned the trust of a Division I program, but there is still plenty left to accomplish before he makes the move to the next level. At quarterback, he brings confidence to the position and has the ability to create when the offense needs a play. Expect him to play with urgency this season as he looks to leave it all on the field, put together his best stretch of football and give his team everything he has before heading to San Diego State.

Jack has the skill set to be a difference-maker in the secondary, particularly when he can play aggressively and trust what he sees. He shows good closing ability when the ball is thrown in front of him and has the range to recover when a play starts to move away from his initial position. Jack also brings value by staying engaged from the snap through the finish, which gives him opportunities to break up passes and make stops. He does a good job adjusting his pace, working into open windows and putting himself in position to make the catch rather than simply running to a spot. Once the ball is secured, he has the ability to get vertical and turn a routine completion into a bigger play.

Rhone has the kind of game that can make him stand out when the action gets going between the tackles. He is quick to trigger once he identifies where the play is headed and does a good job getting himself into position to finish. What I like about his game is his ability to keep moving after the first contact and stay around the ball instead of watching the play develop from behind. This season gives Rhone a chance to show more consistency and prove he can be one of the defensive players offenses have to account for.

Charlie enters this season with something to prove, and that motivation could make him one of the more interesting players to watch. He has a chance to put his ability on display, earn more trust from his coaches and show that he belongs in the conversation when the top players in this group are discussed. This season is about more than just making plays — it's about putting together consistent performances and making sure his name is remembered when the year is over. Charlie has the opportunity in front of him; now it's about making the most of it.

Caden is a linebacker who brings an active style to the middle of the defense and has the ability to make his presence felt around the football. He plays downhill when he sees his opportunity, closes ground quickly and does a good job staying involved once the play develops. His ability to react and pursue gives him a chance to make plays both against the run and in space. This season will be important for Caden as he looks to become more consistent from snap to snap and show that he can be a dependable piece of the defense in all situations.

Simon enters the season as a UTSA commit with plenty of motivation to finish his high school career on a high note. Along the offensive line, he brings a dependable skill set that allows him to help set the tone up front. He does a good job staying engaged through blocks, creating running lanes and giving the quarterback a clean pocket when protection is needed. With his next level already secured, this season gives Simon a chance to continue developing, sharpen the details of his game and show exactly what UTSA is getting in the trenches.

Cole has the opportunity to become a disruptive piece up front this season. He plays with confidence and does a good job keeping the defense honest with his ability to make plays outside of the original design. He does a good job pressing the line before making his decision and has the burst to hit the opening when it develops. There is also a natural feel to the way he moves with the ball, allowing him to make defenders miss and turn ordinary carries into chunk plays. This season will be about showing he can bring that same explosiveness consistently while becoming a dependable option for the offense.

Diego is heading into this season with something to prove, and this could be the year where everything starts to come together. Along the offensive line, he has an opportunity to make his presence felt by playing with good balance, staying connected through blocks and giving his skill players room to operate. The biggest step for Diego will be turning his flashes into consistency snap after snap. He has the chance to make a statement this season, and if he puts together the kind of year he is capable of, Diego could leave a lasting impression on coaches and evaluators. It's time to make it happen.

Mark is an edge player I'll be watching closely this season because of the upside he brings off the perimeter. He has the tools to make his presence felt as a pass rusher, especially when he can get into the backfield and disrupt the timing of the offense. What stands out is his ability to stay active around the line of scrimmage and continue working through a play rather than taking himself out of the action.

Di'avion is entering an important stage of his development as he transitions from playing DB to taking on a bigger role at safety this season. He has already caught the attention of college coaches on the camp circuit, and now he has the opportunity to carry that momentum into Friday nights. The move to safety should give him more chances to showcase his instincts, range and ability to make plays in space. With his first game coming up this week, . Di'avion has the tools to be a late riser, and more game reps could put him in position to see his stock take off.

Correll enters his senior season with his next chapter already lined up at Kansas State, but there is still plenty left for him to accomplish at the high school level. With the pressure that comes with being a committed player, he has a chance to finish his prep career on a high note and show why the Wildcats believed in his ability. Expect Correll to play with confidence this season as he looks to put together a standout senior campaign, make an impact every Friday night and leave his mark before making the jump to the next level.

Linkoln is the type of two-way player who can impact a game without needing everything designed specifically for him. At receiver, he does a good job finding open space, working back to the football and making himself available when plays break down. He shows the ability to create separation with his movement rather than relying solely on speed, and he can turn short completions into positive plays once the ball is in his hands. On defense, Linkoln brings a different level of competitiveness to the secondary, staying engaged through the play and showing good instincts when the ball is in the air.

Private school football in Texas continues to be filled with players who are ready to make an impact, and this group is no different. Each player brings something different to the table, whether it's explosiveness, consistency, playmaking ability or leadership. As the season unfolds, expect these athletes to have plenty of opportunities to turn heads, make big plays and show why they deserve more attention. The spotlight is on them now it's time to see who takes advantage of it.
