They brought back the majority of their starters but also faced a tough schedule early on. They started the season with a 1-6 record, losing two of those games by a total of two points. They went into the final three weeks needing to take care of business or they would miss the playoffs for the second straight season. In week eight, they beat Enid 51-3 and they followed that up with a win over Moore on Halloween night. Those two wins helped the Huskies punch their ticket to the playoffs. They fell to Jenks to end the regular season at 3-7 but they were back in the playoffs for the first time since 2023. They would see rival Edmond Memorial in the first round after falling to the Bulldogs in non-district play. They were swept by the rival as they were shut out 20-0 and the season ended with a 3-8 record. This was the fifth consecutive season that the Huskies won three games. This still feels like a program that is trending in the right direction. They obviously have some work to do to join some of the programs that are consistently in the top ten for Class 6A-1. But it feels like they are knocking on the door of doing that. It starts with them turning the page and going into the 2026 season.   2026 OUTLOOK   Edmond North comes into 2026 with a roster where the future is bright considering how many talented underclassmen they have on both sides of the ball. Offensively, the Huskies bring six starters back from last year's team that averaged a little over 20 points per game. It's all going to start with the quarterback position. We really like the talent they have there and in the skill department to put up a lot of points this season. We would be surprised if we look back in November and December and this offense didn't take a step forward. Defensively, the Huskies also bring back six starters on that side of the ball. And for this group, we really like the talent and overall depth they have on the line of scrimmage. It could be a party in the opposing backfield with the two edge defenders they have that will be looking to cause chaos throughout the season. Last year, this defense gave up a little over 30 points per game. Similar to the offense, we think that they could improve on that number quite a bit coming into this season. The biggest hurdle will be the schedule. The non-district slate is manageable and there's a chance the Huskies start the season 3-0. If they do, they should have momentum going into district play. Depending on how some of those new faces come along, there's a chance that Edmond North has their best finish in the district over the last few seasons. And that could set them up to have playoff success for the first time in over a decade.    PLAYERS TO WATCH    If you ask anyone around the Edmond North football program, they will tell you that 2027 signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='1735181' first='Chauncey' last='Cravens'] is one of, if not the best quarterback in the state. We got a chance to really watch Cravens up close in the spring and it's hard not to see what they are saying with his ability as a complete dual-threat quarterback. He made some throws that you don't see very often. Cravens is going into his third season as QB1 of the Huskies. He's also the starting point guard for their successful basketball program. We think it's safe to say that Cravens is one of the better two-sport athletes in 6A-1. We are fired up to see what he does for his final season under center with the Huskies.     2027 wide receiver and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='506530' first='Domonique' last='Martin II'] is the first of a few two-way players that you need to be on the lookout for this season. Martin started his career with Millwood and moved to Edmond North and expects to be a big contributor to what they do on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Martin is just as dangerous lining up in the slot as he is lined up on the outside and beating defenses deep. Martin will also turn around and have the ability to help out the Huskies in the secondary. We've seen Martin a handful of times in the offseason and each time, he impressed. We think that he has the potential to be one of the top targets in this offense.      We wrote about 2029 tight end and defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='1921619' first='Parker' last='McMahan'] back in June when we updated our 2029 prospect rankings. This kid is an absolute monster in just about everything he does on the football field. We watched him at our showcase camp in February and he had a good day but didn't blow us away. All of that changed during spring ball when he tore it up at the Union team camp. When those pads came on, McMahan looked like an absolute animal on every snap and it didn't matter if it was on offense or defense. We would be shocked if he doesn't emerge as one of the top two-way players in the state, regardless of class this season.      2027 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1836532' first='Reece' last='Fisher'] is another skill player to look out for this season. Talking with Edmond North's coaches this summer, they could not be happier with the career that Fisher has had up to this point. He heads into this season as a three-year starter in the offense so the connection he has with Cravins is among the best that you'll find anywhere in the state. Fisher also comes into this season looking to rewrite the history books at Edmond North. There's a chance that Fisher finishes up his senior season this fall with every career receiving record for the Huskies. When we got a chance to see him this spring, he was an incredibly reliable pass catcher.     2029 defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1828664' first='Rhodes' last='Molenda'] is one of the players that we have circled to watch closer this fall. Molenda was a breakout star for the Huskies last season as a freshman competing every week against 6A-1 competition. Molenda started for the Huskies as a defensive tackle and the guy did not look like your typical freshman in high school football. He was a monster on the line of scrimmage last year and we are fired up to see him return to the gridiron in 2026. He's also a terrific wrestler but he had his freshman year cut short with a knee injury. The expectation is that Molenda will be back for the Huskies this fall and he will look to come back with a vengeance.     Edmond North has to replace the majority of their starters on the offensive line but they do bring back two starters from last year's squad. The conversation will begin with 2028 OL [player_tooltip player_id='1689505' first='Wyatt' last='Knol'] as he starts for the Huskies at left tackle. He's been a name to know since he wrapped up his freshman season. Knol is another underclassman prospect that has an incredibly bright future. He checks a lot of boxes from a size and overall athleticism standpoint. Similar to a few other prospects on this Edmond North roster, we think it's only a matter of time before he has that breakout moment on the recruiting trail and picks up his first offer. When that comes, more should follow.   (2025 All State Honorable Mention)    MORE NAMES TO KNOW   [player_tooltip player_id='1828530' first='AJ' last='Folami'] - 2028 Defensive Lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1833457' first='Andy' last='Rankin'] - 2029 Wide Receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2130890' first='Kaden' last='Collins'] - 2027 Defensive End Maddox Ransom - 2028 Defensive Lineman   2026 SCHEDULE   Aug. 28th - Edmond Santa Fe - Edmond North's 2026 season starts at home against rival Edmond Santa Fe in week zero. The Huskies are looking to continue recent success against the Wolves. They beat Santa Fe 30-7 last year for their second straight win in the series and their third in the last four seasons. But Santa Fe will look different with a new head coach taking over.  Sept. 4th - AT Deer Creek - Edmond North takes a trip over to Deer Creek to play the Antlers in week one. After playing Deer Creek in district play the last two seasons, this game goes back to being a non-district affair. They started playing every year in 2020. This series has been all Deer Creek from the start. They won 13-12 last year and are 6-0 against the Huskies. Sept. 11th - AT Putnam City North| - The non-district slate wraps up in week two with a trip over to Putnam City North. These two teams haven't played since 2019. They were district opponents for nearly a decade and the Huskies had the advantage during that time. From 2012-2019, the two teams met every year and the Huskies were 5-3. But those three losses came in the final three years. Sept. 25th - AT Edmond Memorial - The Huskies return to the field after a week off and open district play on the road against rival Edmond Memorial in week four. The Huskies are hungry to turn things around in this series that has seen the Bulldogs have the advantage recently. They beat the Huskies twice last year, including a 20-0 in the first round of the playoffs.  Oct. 2nd - Norman North - After not playing a single home game in the month of September, the Huskies return home in week five to host Norman North. These two last met in the first round of the 2023 playoffs and the Timberwolves won 30-17. The Huskies come into this season looking to snap a ten-game losing streak to Norman North. Their last win came 25 years ago. Oct. 9th - AT Mustang - The Huskies go back on the road in week six to face Mustang. These two teams have been district opponents every year since Class 6A was split into two divisions. And it has been a series that the Broncos have owned since the 6A split. Since the split in 2014, the Broncos have now won the last 12 meetings, including last year's 57-28 win. Oct. 15th - Westmoore - On a Fall Break Thursday night in week seven, the Huskies will host Westmoore in a major district contest with playoff implications. These two teams haven't played in nearly a decade. They met twice in non-district play in 2016 and 2017 but those two meetings were the only match-ups between these two teams since the 6A split. Oct. 23rd - Bixby - The Huskies host defending state champion Bixby in week eight and Edmond North will be measured up against the top team in 6A-1. These two teams have been district foes the last two years and Edmond North has won each meeting by 50+ points. The Huskies will attempt to close the gap when they go head to head here. Oct. 30th - AT Southmoore - The Huskies go back on the road to face Southmoore in week nine. These two teams haven't played since 2021. Southmoore is back in Class 6A-1 after spending the last two seasons in 6A-2. When these two teams were district foes from 2014-2021, the Sabercats had the series advantage with a 6-2 record against the Huskies Nov. 6th - Broken Arrow - The regular season comes to an end in week ten with a home game against Broken Arrow. This seemed a little crazy when we looked it up but these two teams haven't played in nearly two decades. 2007 was the last time they went head to head. Edmond North comes into this year's meeting looking for their first win over the Tigers in program history.   NOTABLE   Edmond North feels like a program that has been spinning its tires since Class 6A was split into two divisions. But at the same time, it also feels like they are starting to get some traction and could be on their way out of the mud. In the final four years that Class 6A was a 32-team class, from 2010-2013, Edmond North made four straight playoff appearances and won their first round game each year. They would follow that up with losses in the quarterfinals to either Jenks or Union. But since Class 6A was split into two divisions, the Huskies have been battling for that first playoff win. They would miss out on the playoffs from 2014-2019 and made it to the postseason in 2020 during the year where every team that wanted to participate could participate because of the Covid-impacted season. In 2022 and 2023, they made the playoffs but suffered first round exits. The Huskies made it back to the playoffs in 2025 but again, they were bounced out in the first round.
