Early Season Underclassman Trench Talk

He's moving guys off the ball with more consistency and looks quicker with his first step than he did a year ago. You can also see a better understanding of the blocking scheme and where he needs to be on each play. His footwork in pass pro has improved too, and he's staying more balanced instead of getting himself out of position. He's developed his frame some, and the added size and power are showing up at the line. His length helps him get first reach and control reps, while he plays with good leverage in the running game. He just looks stronger and more comfortable than he did a year ago. He's been good at center, gets the snap off cleanly, and does a nice job getting his head up and into the play right away. He can get on the move when asked. In pass pro, he's playing with a good base and has held up well when tested. He's got a quick first step, and he's doing a good job getting his hands where they need to be and driving his legs through contact. He's strong and consistently winning at the point of attack and creating movement up front. I like how efficient his game looks right now. He gets off the ball, gets into his man, and goes to work. The early returns have been really good, and he's a name I'll be keeping an eye on as the season moves along.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
