<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>***Use Code “ScottyB30” for 30% off your subscription***</em><br><br>As we are about to release our 2028 Redzone Rankings prior to the start of the season we wanted to take another look at the film of prospects that emerged in the offseason, are new on the radar, or we wanted to double check if what we saw the first time remains true after in person evals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here we examine some 2028 Wide Receivers in the Film Room!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='974884' first='Gregory' last='Bess-Henning II'] (Wheaton St. Francis)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bess-Henning was at Carmel last year, but will be making the move over to Wheaton St. Francis for his junior campaign.&nbsp; The 6'2" wide receiver is an explosive downfield threat.&nbsp; Such easy acceleration and tracks the ball tremendously well over his shoulder on go routes.&nbsp; Monster on skinny post routes getting vertical in the seam.&nbsp; Adjusts very well to the ball in the air.&nbsp; Crisp getting in and out of his cuts.&nbsp; Slippery with the rock after the catch.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1688392' first='DeAngelo' last='Coates'] (Providence)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coates is an athletic 6'3" 175 pound big bodied pass catcher.&nbsp; Long strides and covers so much ground getting vertical.&nbsp; Uses his size on the outside to box out defensive backs and running with power after the grab.&nbsp; Tracks it well in the air on go routes adjusting to it when needed.&nbsp; Also brings a basketball background to the table.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2219344' first='Mark' last='Williams'] (Naperville Central)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Williams emerged this offseason so we definitely wanted to go back and take a look at the film.&nbsp; Electric athlete that you just want to get the ball in his hands on reverses and bubble screens.&nbsp; Glides past defenders on the backend with his speed.&nbsp; Also good on comeback routes driving defenders downfield, stopping on a dime, then turning around for the grab.&nbsp; Effective going over the middle and moving the chains on intermediate routes.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1136696' first='Blayke' last='Lohmann'] (Wheaton St. Francis)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lohmann is a 6'1" 165 pound pass catcher who can line up all over the field.&nbsp; Wins with his hands off the line of scrimmage.&nbsp; Crisp route runner that is clean getting in and out of his breaks while creating space from the defensive back.&nbsp; Finds weak spot in the defense sitting down there to make the catch.&nbsp; Very good possession receiver who consistently moves the chains.&nbsp; Very sure hands!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2152009' first='Elijah' last='Daniel'] (Belleville West)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Daniel has bounced around from O'Fallon to Althoff last year and now is at Belleville West.&nbsp; The 6'2" pass catcher is a vertical threat who tracks it well down the field.&nbsp; Throw it up and the athletic and tall wide out will go get it!&nbsp; Solid route runner that has nice hands reeling the pass in.&nbsp; Uses his size going over the middle.&nbsp; Knows how to use his size to box out smaller corners.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2170129' first='Landon' last='Martinez'] (Lincoln Way East)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Martinez is a 6'2" pass catcher who also has some juice in the return game.&nbsp; Makes guys miss after the catch with juke moves.&nbsp; Effective on double move routes setting up the defensive back.&nbsp; Brings physicality as a blocker on the outside showing good technique.&nbsp; Smooth off the line of scrimmage.&nbsp; Overall like the size, athleticism, and natural ability to reel the ball in from a variety of levels.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1653773' first='Carlton' last='Gordon'] (Brother Rice)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 6'0" 170 pound pass catcher from Brother Rice can line up a little bit all over the field creating mismatches.&nbsp; Smooth route runner that wins off the line. Can even hand him the ball out of the backfield at times. Also brings some physicality as a run blocker on the perimeter.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1986704' first='Beckham' last='Brink'] (Tolono&nbsp; Unity)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 5'10" 170 pound pass catcher is a sure handed reciever that has speed once he gets it in his hands flying downfield!&nbsp; Knack for sitting down in space then turning on the speed.&nbsp; Effective on bubble screens.&nbsp; Chain mover that understands leverage and angles well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2080597' first='Gavin' last='Ciesiun'] (Lincoln Way Central)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jumbo athlete at receiver who can also line up as a wildcat QB.&nbsp; The 6'2" 180 pound rising junior tracks it well on the sideline making difficult catches.&nbsp; Tough holding on to the ball through big hits.&nbsp; Can get vertical making catches over the middle.&nbsp; Could also be utilized as a flex tight end.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2087717' first='Paul' last='Liang'] (New Trier)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Smaller pass catcher at 5'6" who creates separation with double moves getting in and out of his cuts.&nbsp; Tracks it well in the air on vertical routes.&nbsp; Good athlete that can compete in traffic for catches.&nbsp; Slippery going over the middle making the catch and accelerating with the rock.&nbsp; Speed to win in one on one situations getting downfield.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>William Gipson (Perspectives)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 5'8" wide receiver is an offensive weapon you want to get the ball in his hands.&nbsp; Effective out of the slot winning off the line of scrimmage along with running with it in his hands.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2206301' first='Dylan' last='Weber'] (St. Viator)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Weber is a 5'9" athlete that impacts on both sides of the ball.&nbsp; As a wide receiver he can do damage on shorter routes and bubble screens.&nbsp; Solid hands. Shows toughness on shorter grabs. On the defensive side at safety he snatches interceptions as a centerfielder.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
