Last Season (9-1)

Last season was dominant for A. Philip Randolph. They cruised to 9 straight wins, with wins like 48-6, 50-6, 47-0, and 50-14. They not only were scoring in bunches, but they also managed to hold opponents to few points. Even in their only loss of the season they still put up 34 points, losing in a shootout. They're one of the powerhouses of the PSAL, and they look to carry this dominance into next season. They've got a really exciting group of players coming back for next season that I'm excited to dive into

Top Prospect

Suazo is the highest ranked player from A Philip Randolph we have here at Prep RedZone. Suazo has ELITE size, speed, and great ball skills. He's got a great, super athletic build, and able to separate from DBs and get open easily. He flashes at DB as well, where his size really shines, and shows easy ability to break on balls.

X-Factors

Zahaire is an elite, twitches up athlete with breakaway speed. He provides value at multiple offensive positions, and can slot in well at WR and RB. Typically, kids this age with similar speed and twitch are a bit shorter, and his height is a (positive) outlier. He's got strong hands and ability to attack the ball. He's kind of the prototype for what colleges are looking for these days. Speed, twitch, and separation are at such a premium. There's much less of an emphasis on size and length (which Zahaire still has a bit of). He'll be a good player at the next level.

Opoku is a fun player! He's agile, he can beat defenders east/west, he's got some twitch to his game. He's a quarterback that you can do a lot of different things with. He's got a pretty decent arm and can make a lot of good throws. The elephant in the room is his height, which is shorter than most other high school quarterbacks. He's still thick and filled out though, and his weight allows him to be a really effective runner at this level. At the next level I don't think he'll be a quarterback unless he hits a massive growth spurt, I think he projects as a runningback.

Valdez plays both ways-and his best attribute is his strength. He's very strong and can easily move defenders or offensive lineman out of the way. He's a strong tackler. He's best when defending the run game, he's disruptive. I'd love to see him get a bit faster and have more burst when trying to get through gaps and past lineman. He's got a good motor and finishes plays.

Beakout Player

Edwards has really good size for a high school defensive lineman. He's got surprising burst and active hands. He's great in the pass and the run game. He moves really well side to side. He shoots gaps quickly and he's light on his feet for a player that weighs in at 285. I think he projects as an end at the next level rather than a nose. He's a bit more of a "finesse" player than a "strength" player. He wins with speed and finesse rather than just bull rushing lineman. Even though we already have hime ranked relatively highly, I have him in my breakout player spot because I think with all his tools, coming back for his senior season, he's going to catapult up rankings this year and become a much more highly recruited player. He's got active hands and great feet, and awesome size for a player at the next level, and he's seen a lot of high school football now. He's going to have an excellent season year.

Names to know

Position

Player

Class

Notes

WR

Jahson Joseph

2028

Young receiver on varsity-slight frame but good speed

DB

[player_tooltip player_id='1678457' first='Anthony' last='Pitre']

2027

6 foot, senior DB

DB

Yadriel De Los Santos

2028

Young DB on varsity

Key Losses

ATH- Ardenis Polanco Perez
RB- Ahmed Toure
DB- Mahmud Jalloh
LB- Justin Marin
LB- Jayden Ramos

Schedule

https://www.psal.org/profiles/team-profile.aspx#005/06577/2027

2026-2027 Outlook

I expect a really great season for A Philip Randolph. They've got excellent players returning to the team, including multiple players we've ranked here at Prep RedZone. They were absolutely dominant last season, on both sides of the ball. They've got two excellent skill players returning that can carry the offense if need be, and more excellent defenders, including [player_tooltip player_id='505864' first='Jaire' last='Edwards'] who I think is going to skyrocket next season. They're a very balanced team with a lot of different dimensions. Their schedule coming up for next season is, overall, not too bad. They've got Lehman and Harry S. Truman on the schedule who they beat handedly last season. But they've also got Sheepshead Bay Educational, who were their only loss last season, and Stuyvesant High School who is very good. I expect another big, exciting year for A. Philip Randolph with a multitude of college football players on their roster.
