Throughout the month of July and even into August, we are publishing well over 100 of the most in-depth team previews that you'll find anywhere to get you completely ready for the 2026 football season. This is something that began for us at PRZ-Oklahoma in 2021 and it continues to get bigger and better every single year. We're looking forward to diving deep into the top teams across the state in every class. From defending champions, to the top contenders and plenty of dark horses and other teams to know, we'll have complete coverage every single day. There will be multiple previews dropping every single day! In this post, we take a look at the reigning Class 4A state champion Tuttle Tigers!

RELATED

- Tuttle Video Preview With HC Brad Ballard

Tuttle Tigers

Preseason Prep Redzone Ranking: #2 In Class 4A

Head Coach: Brad Ballard - 13th Season - 127-24 Record At Tuttle

2025 RESULTS (14-0 Record - Class 4A State Champions)

Aug. 28th - Beat Guthrie 38-13
Sept. 5th - Beat Newcastle 35-7
Sept. 12th - Beat Noble 56-0
Sept. 26th - Beat Ardmore 51-0
Oct. 3rd - Beat Madill 69-0
Oct. 10th - Beat Bethany 69-0
Oct. 16th - Beat Tecumseh 70-6
Oct. 24th - Beat Blanchard 49-7
Oct. 31st - Beat Chickasha 56-0
Nov. 7th - Beat Harrah 62-8
1st Round - Beat Clinton 51-6
Quarterfinals - Beat Grove 51-0
Semifinals - Beat Broken Bow 49-28
Championship - Beat Elgin 23-20

2025 Offensive Scoring Average: 52.1 Points Per Game
2025 Defensive Scoring Average: 6.8 Points Per Game

There is no doubt that the Tuttle Tigers came into the 2025 football season feeling like they had some unfinished business to take care of. After coming up short to Elgin in the 2024 title game, the Tigers brought back the majority of their starters and all signs pointed to a championship game rematch in 2025. But first, the Tigers would need to take care of business before they could start thinking about another shot at Elgin under the championship lights in Edmond. Simply put, the Tigers left no doubt that they were ready for another shot at the title during the regular season. They took care of 5A contenders Guthrie and Newcastle in the first two weeks and then they weren't challenged the rest of the regular season. That included five shutout victories and no team (minus Guthrie with 13) scored double digits on the Tigers in the regular season. Tuttle rolled to a 10-0 record and another district championship. They beat Clinton and Grove with ease in the first two rounds, followed by a tough semifinal showdown with Broken Bow. The Tigers couldn't be stopped on offense but the defense also gave up a season-high 28 points. But in the end, they won 49-28, setting up that championship game rematch with Elgin in a very frigid December setting for the last high school game of Oklahoma's 2025 season. It was a rematch we were looking forward to seeing and it lived up to the hype and then some. Elgin went on a 21-play, 98 yard drive to take the lead with four minutes to play. That was too much time for the Tigers to make something happen. Tuttle drove down and scored with 42 seconds left to take the lead and ultimately give the Tigers the 23-20 win. It was their fourth state championship in program history.

2026 OUTLOOK

The Tigers come into the 2026 football season looking to defend their crown. The road back to Edmond could end up being a little bumpy as Class 4A has elevated. After this class featured a two-team race with Elgin and Tuttle the last two seasons, the Tigers have more company in 2026. They bring back eight starters on the offensive side of the ball and this was a unit that averaged over 50 points per game last season. But they have to replace two of their most important parts on that side of the ball. Arguably the best quarterback in the state from last season and a durable and productive running back have graduated. Those two spots are the two biggest question marks for the Tigers going into the 2026 season. However, the Tigers don't have many question marks elsewhere. They bring back their offensive line and some dynamic playmakers at the wide receiver position. Seven starters are back on the defensive side of the ball and the strength of this unit looks like it will come in the back seven with the linebackers and the secondary. Tuttle does have to replace some names up front but the secondary should be really solid and let's face it, Tuttle usually doesn't have problems finding some hard-hitting linebackers to bring the heat. The defending 4A champs are going to test themselves early on against a tough non-district schedule. They face three of the better teams in Class 5A for their non-district slate. That should get them prepared to go after another district championship and ultimately defend that state title. The Tigers look like the favorite to capture the district title but the target on their back is going to be bigger than it's been over the last few seasons. They're well aware that they'll get everyone's best shot when they come to town and they welcome the challenge.

KEY LOSSES TO GRADUATION

Cruz Campbell - Quarterback (2025 PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year Finalist)
Noah Herring - Defensive Lineman (2025 All State Honorable Mention)
Shawn Rounsaville Jr - Running Back (2025 All State 2nd Team Selection)

PLAYERS TO WATCH

It's going to be hard not to notice 2028 offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='2191452' first='Blake' last='Schneberger'] when the Tigers take the field this season. Checking in around 6'7, Schneberger has the potential to be the foundational piece of this Tuttle offensive line. We mentioned earlier in the preview how the Tigers bring back just about everyone on the offensive line and this could end up being a massive strength for their offense. We got a chance to watch Schneberger go to work in person at one of our showcase camps earlier this year. Again, he passes the eye test when you watch him in person and there's a lot to like about his game. His ceiling moving forward appears to be pretty high.

2027 wide receiver and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1035155' first='Jalen' last='Lane'] ended up being Tuttle's big play threat throughout the 2025 season. Lane found the end zone nearly 20 times last season between offense and special teams and he also helped out on the defensive side of the ball. We mentioned earlier how the Tigers were going to be able to rely on the playmakers at the wide receiver position and Lane is definitely one of those guys. We've known about him since early on in his high school career. You could start to see flashes of that playmaking ability when he was a sophomore but he enjoyed a major breakout season last fall and looks to build on that in 2026.

(2025 All State Honorable Mention)

You can't include one twin without the other and 2027 wide receiver and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1035152' first='Jordan' last='Lane'] is just as dangerous of a playmaker as twin brother Jalen. Between the two Lane brothers, they accounted for 28 touchdowns a year ago and we think at the very least, they'll be able to match that this season. [player_tooltip player_id='1035152' first='Jordan' last='Lane'] was simply a magnet to the football a year ago. He led the team in receptions and also finished with a handful of turnovers on the defensive side of the ball. In addition to having Jalen returning, the Tigers also bring back Jordan and they'll be able to do a variety of things with him in all three phases of the game. They'll get creative with putting the ball in his hands.

(2025 All State Honorable Mention)

Replacing arguably the best quarterback in the state from a year ago is not an easy task but it looks like 2027 signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='1830892' first='Parker' last='Madison'] is up for the challenge. Madison backed up Campbell last season and because Tuttle took care of business most weeks by halftime, Madison got some reps on the varsity level quite a bit last season. Granted, they were running the ball on nearly every play so he wasn't asked to do much. But Madison is going to have two things working for him this fall. First off, the offensive line is absolutely solid. Then the playmakers he has at wide receiver will put him in a position to move the ball consistently up and down the field.

We mentioned earlier how it usually isn't difficult to find some hard-hitting linebackers on the Tuttle defense. Here's the next guy coming up for the Tigers. 2028 linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1832754' first='Turner' last='Leming'] returns for the Tigers after finishing third on the team in tackles a year ago and he's the leading returning tackler heading into 2026. He finished with nearly 70 tackles on the season and a handful of tackles for loss. It's hard to imagine that Leming won't take a major step forward this season. Tuttle's coaches are high on his potential and believe that he's one of their better juniors going into this fall. Tuttle's defense was absolutely dominant a year ago and Leming looks to keep it that way.

The last time we saw 2027 tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1830218' first='Wick' last='Kohmescher'] on a football field, he was celebrating a state championship, moments after catching the game-winning touchdown. Kohmescher was certainly more of a blocking tight end last season as his stats aren't anything crazy. But in the biggest moment of the season, the Tigers were not afraid to go to him and he responded in the biggest way possible. Now, Kohmescher is a senior and ready to elevate his play to another level. He's still a dominant blocker on the end of the offensive line but he will more than likely have a bigger role as a receiver. For a new quarterback, he could be the ultimate safety valve in the pass game.

MORE NAMES TO KNOW

[player_tooltip player_id='1645190' first='Behr' last='Vargas'] - 2028 Running Back/Linebacker
[player_tooltip player_id='1834504' first='Brody' last='Buck'] - 2029 Offensive/Defensive Lineman
[player_tooltip player_id='1834501' first='Brody' last='Dobbs'] - 2029 Linebacker
[player_tooltip player_id='1837142' first='Cale' last='Harryman'] - 2028 Offensive Lineman
[player_tooltip player_id='1834511' first='Camden' last='Boswell'] - 2029 Offensive Lineman
[player_tooltip player_id='1659242' first='Darrius' last='Johnson'] - 2027 Running Back
[player_tooltip player_id='1837143' first='Donnie' last='Schluter'] - 2028 Wide Receiver
[player_tooltip player_id='1837139' first='Gage' last='Goodwin'] - 2027 Defensive Lineman
[player_tooltip player_id='1830896' first='Gavin' last='Hines'] - 2027 Offensive Lineman
Ian Pagel - 2030 Quarterback
Jude Herring - 2030 Defensive Lineman
[player_tooltip player_id='1834499' first='Wyatt' last='Hale'] - 2027 Offensive Lineman

2026 SCHEDULE

Aug. 28th - Guthrie
- For the third straight year, Tuttle will open up the season against the Guthrie Blue Jays. The Tigers have won the last two meetings and that came after dropping two straight in 2022 and 2023. Both teams play a very physical brand of football and will continue to be an excellent way to kick off the season in 2026.
Sept. 3rd - AT Newcastle
- On a Thursday night in week one, Tuttle hits the road to square off with nearby rival Newcastle. This is a rivalry that has been completely one-sided in favor of the Tigers. They won 35-7 last year and have lost only one time in the last two decades. Newcastle will have a first year head coach taking over this fall.
Sept. 11th - AT Elgin
- Tuttle wraps up non-district play with a heavyweight clash in week two. They'll hit the road to face Elgin in a rematch of the last two Class 4A state championship games. Elgin prevailed in 2024 while the Tigers got their payback in 2025. While Elgin has moved up to 5A, we are pumped to see these two teams playing once again.
Sept. 25th - Bridge Creek
- District play will open up in week four as the Tigers host Bridge Creek. These two teams have been district opponents off and on for the last 15 years. They were district foes in 2022 and 2023, with Tuttle winning both of those match-ups by 28 points or more. Bridge Creek is back on the schedule for 2026 and 2027,
Oct. 2nd - AT Tecumseh
- Tuttle's third road game in four weeks comes in week five when they travel to face Tecumseh. This is a district match-up that has been very favorable to the Tigers. They've met in district play every year since 2014 and Tuttle is 12-0 during that stretch, including last year's 70-6 win, the biggest Tuttle win during this streak.
Oct. 9th - Blanchard
- The second half of the regular season kicks off with a home game against Blanchard. The Tigers have won the last two against the Lions and that comes after dropping the previous two in the series. Needless to say, this has been a very competitive series and will have a huge impact on the district race in 4A.
Oct. 15th - AT Harrah
- On a Fall Break Thursday night, the Tigers will hit the road and face Harrah in week seven. Harrah will have a first year head coach taking over while Tuttle will look to continue their dominance in this series. They won 62-8 last season and have won 12 straight since these two teams became district foes in 2014.
Oct. 23rd - Western Heights
- Western Heights is a new team on the schedule after the Jets dropped down from Class 5A. This is a program that's trying to turn things around but it's been tough. They're coming off an 0-10 season last fall. They're also a completely new opponent as Tuttle hasn't played them in recent memory.
Oct. 30th - AT Chickasha
- The Tigers go on the road to face Chickasha in week nine. Chickasha became a new district opponent for the Tigers in 2024 and the last two meetings have not been competitive. Tuttle has won the last two meetings by a combined score of 111-0. Prior to the 2024 meeting, these two met in the playoffs three times in a four-year stretch
Nov. 6th - Ardmore
- The regular season wraps up with a week ten clash at home against Ardmore. These two teams met in the district opener in each of the last two seasons but now it's taking place in week ten. And all eyes could be on this match-up as a district title showdown because Ardmore comes into this season with high expectations.

NOTABLE

You can start to make the claim that Tuttle is the potential “team of the decade” for Class 4A. Since the start of the 2020 season, there has not been a better team in Class 4A than the Tigers. In the last six seasons, Tuttle has a record of 69-10 and there is not another 4A program that has a better record during that same stretch. Tuttle has played for the state championship three times in the last six seasons and won the 2025 gold ball. Head coach Brad Ballard has certainly turned Tuttle into “Title Town” once again and it's interesting to see where Tuttle is now compared to where it was when he took over. He was hired in 2014, replacing Phil Koons after he won 200+ games and a couple state championships during his 21 seasons as Tuttle head coach. There was plenty of controversy around Koons' resignation so Ballard was stepping into an interesting situation when he was hired a month later. But Ballard is now getting ready for his 13th season as head coach of the Tigers and he has a record of 127-24 with a pair of state championships during his tenure. Ballard knows where the bar is when it comes to Tuttle football and Tuttle athletics in general.

LAST FIVE SEASONS

2025 - 14-0 - Class 4A State Champions
2024 - 13-1 - Class 4A Runner Ups
2023 - 9-3 - Lost In Class 4A Quarterfinals
2022 - 9-3 - Lost In Class 4A Quarterfinals
2021 - 13-1 - Class 4A Runner Ups

CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY

4 State Championships

2025 - Beat Elgin 23-20
2018 - Beat Bethany 35-28
2005 - Beat Cascia Hall 35-14
2001 - Beat Seminole 16-10
