There was something about one particular rep that [player_tooltip player_id='1401065' first='Jaizon' last='Robinson'] got home on that I really appreciated. The move that led to victory was not all that complex - a club. However, what proceeded it and set up the move was what impressed me. First, Robinson rushed half-man, which is something - especially young players - struggle to understand. As such, his body was shaded on his matchup. Next, I watched has Robinson got hands on his matchup, with his inside hand near the "v" of his opponent's shirt. This enabled Robinson to control the offensive lineman's frame with power. From there, he delivered a strong club which collapsed the outside of his matchup, allowing just enough of a path for Robinson to eek through for a win. The intentionality and attention to detail in this rep Robinson took was second-to-none.

A top performer at this very same venue in the spring time, [player_tooltip player_id='1891565' first='Ahmad' last='Clanton'] had another solid performance. I liked how Clanton consistently finished his rip move, powerfully uppercutting low-to-high, finishing with a fist near his ear. One question remains for Clanton: what is next? After working the rip masterfully, I challenge him to find a way to work off of that great move. Counters, stacking moves, and things of the sort will enable Clanton to shed blocks when both defending the run and the pass.

Another prospect who seems to have mastered the rip move was [player_tooltip player_id='1893259' first='Brian' last='Foster']. A former camp top performer headed to reigning state champ St. Joseph Regional, Foster does a great job finishing his rips. One thing I want to implore Foster to be mindful of is knowing what his fastball is. Incase he has not realized it yet, Foster's fastball his his ability to speed rush. Having said that, everything he does when pass rushing ought come off of and stem from that.

Mixing it up amongst the trees of taller prospects was Christopher Diamond. Diamond seems to understand that you only swim square shoulders; however, when he did so he wound up cross facing his offensive matchup. Although this is something I typically would not advise, Diamond managed to get through and win that rep. Perhaps Diamond can project out to be a diamond in the rough in the future.
