Team Review - Anna Coyotes

After going 10-3 overall and 6-2 in district under head coach Parr, the Coyotes showed they can compete with anyone on their schedule. Heading into the 2026 season, this team isn't satisfied with what they accomplished a year ago. While several familiar faces return, there are also plenty of new names ready to step into bigger roles and make an impact as Anna looks to take the next step in 2026.    Basit flashed his playmaking ability last season and showed why he's ready for a bigger role in 2026. He comes off the edge with speed, covers plenty of ground in space, and has a knack for getting to the football. Expect him to be involved all over the defense, making plays against the run, disrupting passing lanes, and continuing to develop into one of the leaders of the unit.     UNLV commit Cam arrives at Anna after transferring from Prestonwood Academy, bringing with him one of the most productive defensive résumés in the state. Last season, he piled up 111 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and 14 quarterback hurries, proving he can make an impact on every down. Now, he's bringing that same relentless mindset and high level of production to the Coyotes' defense, where he'll add experience, toughness, and the ability to change a game with his play.     Carter showed some really good flashes at wide receiver, running crisp routes and displaying dependable hands throughout the offseason. One thing that stands out is how technical he is with his route running, creating separation with his footwork instead of relying only on athleticism. At his size, don't be surprised to see him line up at tight end in certain packages, giving the offense another reliable target who can create mismatches against defenders     Jordan is a valuable two way player who has the ability to make an impact on both sides of the line. Whether he is lining up at offensive line or defensive line, he brings a tough, physical style that stands out on film.   On offense, Jordan shows the ability to create movement up front, using his strength and leverage to win battles at the point of attack. He understands how to finish blocks and help open opportunities for the skill players. On defense, he brings a relentless mindset, using his size and power to disrupt plays, fight through contact, and make life difficult for opposing offenses.     Kordae is a name to watch along the defensive front, bringing the type of athleticism and explosiveness that can change the momentum of a game. On film, he shows the ability to stress offensive tackles with his quickness, getting off the ball fast and forcing blockers to react to him. He does a great job attacking gaps, using his speed to create hesitation, and finding different ways to get into the backfield.     Peyton Miller made waves across social media when he announced his commitment to Florida, sending a statement that one of the top offensive line prospects in the country is heading to The Swamp. The four star offensive lineman has earned his reputation with a combination of size, athletic ability, and technical development that separates him from many players at his position.   On film, Miller stands out with his ability to control the line of scrimmage and consistently win his matchups. He shows impressive footwork for his size, allowing him to stay in front of pass rushers while maintaining good balance and body control. His hands are a major strength, as he does a great job landing punches, keeping defenders at bay, and creating movement at the point of attack     Leshem, a Missouri State commit, has built his reputation as a reliable offensive lineman who brings toughness and consistency up front. On film, he shows a strong understanding of leverage, using his hands well to control defenders and create movement at the point of attack. He does a good job staying balanced through contact, keeping his base underneath him, and finishing blocks through the whistle.   What stands out about Leshem is his ability to handle different looks from the defense. He shows good awareness in pass protection, recognizing pressure and staying composed against quick rushers.     Njoku put together a strong spring showing, and his film showed a defensive back who is continuing to take big steps in his development. On tape, he displayed good instincts in coverage, staying patient in his backpedal and showing the ability to stay connected with receivers throughout the route. He did a good job recognizing plays quickly, closing space, and putting himself in position to make a play on the football.     Zephyr is a talented quarterback who showed plenty of upside during his time at Guyer High School last season. On film, what stands out is his ability to consistently make high-level throws from different areas of the field. He shows great touch on deep balls, placing passes where only his receivers can make a play, while also displaying the arm strength to drive the ball into tight windows on intermediate routes.   He does a good job reading coverage and delivering accurate throws with anticipation, allowing his receivers to make plays in stride. Whether it's dropping a pass over the top of the defense, fitting the ball between defenders, or making throws outside the numbers, Zephyr shows the passing ability that separates him from many young quarterbacks. He hold offers from TCU , Texas Tech, Houston, North Texas.     Haydn is entering his sophomore season looking to take on a bigger role and continue developing into a key contributor for his team. With offers from UTSA and Texas A&M, he has already gained attention for his potential and the tools he brings to the field. Haydn has the size that stands out immediately, giving him a strong foundation to build on as he continues to improve his technique, confidence, and overall game. With another offseason of work ahead, he is focused on making a bigger impact in 2026 and showing why he is a name to watch moving forward.     Sean continues to separate himself as one of the top offensive linemen in the class, earning major attention from programs like Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Ball State, UNLV, Kansas, Northwestern, and Arkansas. What makes Sean stand out is the way he controls the line of scrimmage with his strength, technique, and consistency. He has the ability to create movement up front in the run game, finishing blocks and allowing plays to develop, while also showing the awareness and footwork needed to handle pass protection. Sean plays with a high motor, understands angles, and continues to refine the small details that make a difference at the next level. With his continued development, he is proving why he has become one of the most followed offensive line prospects in the state.     Brayden is a name to keep an eye on heading into the 2026 season after putting together an impressive year as a playmaker. Finishing with 17 receptions, 288 receiving yards, and 4 touchdowns while averaging 16.9 yards per catch, he showed the ability to create explosive plays and make the most of his opportunities. Brayden as he continues to develop and take his game to the next level.     Carter is a tackling machine, he consistently shows the ability to close space quickly, track down ball carriers, and deliver impactful stops in the open field. Carter's willingness to come downhill and make plays in the run game separates him, while his physical style and awareness allow him to be a dependable piece of the defense.     Desmar is one of the top specialists to watch, bringing valuable experience and a strong leg to the field. With multiple offers already on the table. UTPB and UTSA.     Royce is a talented two-sport athlete who brings his competitive mindset from the basketball court to the football field. As a defensive back, he continues to develop his game while putting in valuable work during the offseason to sharpen his skills.     Carter, a San Diego State commit, is bringing valuable experience and production to the team after transferring from Cedar Hill. Known for making a big impact in the rushing game, he adds another dynamic piece to the offense with his ability to create plays.     Myles made the most of his opportunities when he got on the field, consistently finding ways to make plays happen at the running back position. He brings a great combination of elusiveness and speed, with the ability to make defenders miss in space and turn the corner for big gains. Heading into the 2026 season, Myles will look to continue building on those flashes and become a bigger part of the offense.     Houston is ready to take his game to another level heading into the 2026 season. After showing flashes last year while still developing, he enters this offseason with a different mindset, putting in the work and focusing on refining his craft. With more experience under his belt and a commitment to improving the details of his game, Houston is looking to make a bigger impact and show how much he has grown. He holds offers from UTSA and Oklahoma.     Christian is heading into his sophomore season ready to take the next step and make an impact for the team. With proven playmakers returning, key additions strengthening both sides of the ball, and younger talent ready to step into bigger roles, the Coyotes have the depth and experience to compete every Friday night. If they continue to build on last season's success, don't be surprised to see Anna playing its best football when the postseason arrives.
