PRZVA Team Preview: Lake Braddock Bruins

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Last Years Finish: 10-3 Fell to West Springfield in Region C Finals</h2>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Head Coach: Mike Dougherty (2 Time Region Champion)</h2>   <p>Lake Braddock was in somewhat of an unfamiliar situation last fall when they bested by West Springfield for the Region C title. The Bruins still managed to win 10 games and make a deep playoff run behind their explosive offense and stingy defense. In spite of graduation losses on both sides the expectations will not change over in Burke, Lake Braddock is expected to compete for another division championship. Big shoes to fill at QB, TE, WR & entire secondaryLook for the Bruins to over power teams in the box on both sides of the ball and continue their dangerous RPO game on O."</em></p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Key Returnees:</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='1663713' first='Samuel' last='Rhye'], [player_tooltip player_id='1513477' first='Will' last='Fedor'], [player_tooltip player_id='2148198' first='Josiah' last='Bolme'], [player_tooltip player_id='1184902' first='Isaac' last='Thai'], [player_tooltip player_id='1781339' first='Justin' last='Saucedo'], [player_tooltip player_id='2211181' first='Jerard' last='Pulliam Jr'], Jack Podsednik<br></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Got to witness this stud up close at the FCPS showcase and he passes the eye test let me assure you. Pulliam is a part of a defensive line that should be the strength of the Bruins defense, he is 6'2 and a lean 225 lbs.. He ran a blazing 4.6 40 at the combine and I think he can run even faster. Starting last year he seems to come into his own and is major breakout start candidate lining up opposite of [player_tooltip player_id='2148198' first='Josiah' last='Bolme']. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/jerard_pulliam/status/1996355187653701973?s=20 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">This young man is underrated earning 2nd team all district honors a season ago, Lake Braddock's offense seem to really get going once Sam Rhye became the feature back. He is a great north/south runner with excellent vision rushing for 10 touchdowns last fall. I would imagine as the Bruins implement a new starting quarterback that they will rely a lot on Rhye early. He is the perfect type of back that if you need a first down he will get it. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Sam_Rhye08/status/1998133078154174756?s=20 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Thai is ridiculously fast off the snap making him a very difficult matchup out of the slot. The speedster knows how to get off a jam and can run by any secondary. Isaac is 5'9 and may run a sub 4.4 40 given the right opportunity. He will be vital for the passing game as he is a burner but can run shorter routes and get open too. Sleep on this kid at your own risk, he will make you pay.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Bolme probably has the biggest arms for his age group that I have ever seen, the all region lineman is wrecking ball along the defensive line. He had 113 tackles as a sophomore, what do you think he will do these next two years to top that? The ultimate competitor, Bolme is a division 1 lineman I dont care about his height. He is a 6'3 and should be playing at the FCS level very soon another dominant senior year would do the trick. My favorite plays of him are when the Bruins pull him and he is tatoing defenders on the run, ala Jason Kelce. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/will_fedor/status/1995955339674747039?s=20 </div></figure>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Key Newcomers:</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='2143224' first='Nathan' last='Tar'], [player_tooltip player_id='2243602' first='Wyatt' last='Holcombe'], [player_tooltip player_id='2243604' first='James' last='Tuthill']</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Ty Jackson is off to William & Mary so the Bruins will need a new starting quarterback and [player_tooltip player_id='2143224' first='Nathan' last='Tar'] impressed during the off-season. He threw some seeds at our 7v7 tournament this past winter and has the size to step in and perform well. Tar is already 6'2 and moves well on his feet, I think you will see a different type of offense with him under center. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Holcombe is a rising senior who was one of a few names Coach mentioned as a potential breakout candidate. He has good size at 6'2 and 180 lbs., he should be another reliable target at receiver for whomever wins the starting quarterback job. Looks like he is a big body target that can moss defenders for jump balls. Back healthy and expected to start alongside [player_tooltip player_id='1184902' first='Isaac' last='Thai'], the Bruins offense should be a force.</p>
