He is a good tackler at making plays in or near the line of scrimmage. His closing speed from the linebacker position is impressive. He also played as an off-ball tight end/h-back. He showed a good ability to block on the edge. He also showed a good ability to catch the ball. Metz is a good player in the 2027 class, and he currently has an offer from Davidson. He is excellent at reading the hole and getting downhill while he runs the ball. Then, defenders fall to the wayside when they are trying to tackle him. He is a physical and rugged runner. He also shows a good burst and quickness, which allows him to excel as a running back. As an edge defender, he has a good blend of size (6'2"), strength, and athleticism. He gets off the ball very quickly, as he has one of the best get-offs for an edge defender. His athleticism is impressive as you see him be very active against offenses. His closing speed is good as he rips through the body of offensive linemen. He also has a motor that never stops as he chases plays all over the field.
