He is a tough player to stop as he is a physical runner who is hard to bring down. He also shows good quickness and burst. He and Luca Neal Luca Neal 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB/ATH Avonworth | 2026 State PA are a good one-two punch for Avonworth. They are both tough to stop, and Northwestern Lehigh will need to focus on stopping both running backs.

Dimitri Velisaris Dimitri Velisaris 5'6" | 160 lbs | RB Avonworth | 2027 State PA is a good running back for Avonworth. His ability to be the bell cow for Avonworth is impressive. He is a good running back who is excellent at taking on contact and keeping his legs moving. He also shows a good ability to be patient before he hits the hole. Velisaris had a big game for Avonworth in the victory over North Catholic when he rushed for 122 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win.

Dimitri Velisaris Dimitri Velisaris 5'6" | 160 lbs | RB Avonworth | 2027 State PA is a good running back who had a strong season last year. His ability to make defenders miss is excellent. He is also a physical running back who is hard to bring down. If defenders try to arm-tackle him, he will run through them easily. He also shows good speed and can outrun defenders as well. He is particularly good on outside zone run plays where he reads it well and then uses his speed to hit it outside. Velisaris is a good running back who should be even better going into this season.

Dimitri Velisaris Dimitri Velisaris 5'6" | 160 lbs | RB Avonworth | 2027 State PA shared running back duties this year for Avonworth and it was impressive the way he played in spot duty. Velisaris has a physical running style. Rarely does one tackler take him down. He runs through contact well. He also has a good burst and quickness as a running back. Velisaris should get more opportunities next year and I expect a big season from him.

What NWL should expect…
Velisaris has a mid/full season tape up on Hudl, said tape showcasing a lot of what I liked in years past. Nico and Luca Neal Luca Neal 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB/ATH Avonworth | 2026 State PA have the hot hand, yet Velisaris is a name to watch out for nonetheless. Unsure what his role has looked like with the emergence of the Neal brothers, yet NWL will have to be ready for the change of pace Velisaris can provide. Not too many home-runs hit, not too many touchdowns scored, yet this young man is a capable back, we didn’t rank him well for the hell of it. Velisaris could be an option to catch balls out of the backfield, yet we all expect Avonworth to buckle down and run the ball 95% of the time on Saturday.

STANDOUT TRAIT ON TAPE: Balance and Toughness
Can run out of 12/11/10 personnel sets. Serious production, played a pivotal role in Avonworth’s success last Fall. We can get the obvious out of the way, yes he’s on the small side, yet his stature hasn’t stopped him from producing clearly. Great blend of toughness and balance through the trenches. Low center of gravity, Velisaris isn’t brought down by arms reaching for him between the tackles, he isn’t likely to be tackled by the ankles. Can run out of various sets, shotgun, sweeps, all witnessed on tape. I worry about small backs and their stride/speed capabilities, but seeing Velisaris run with the rock in the return game eases this worry a bit, he can move. Placed as a top five back early on, we know how tough it is to hold that ranking, nonetheless, this young man has caught my eye. Excited to see what he plans to put on tape next Fall.
