Recruiting action keeps rolling in July: Latest OL/DL commitments

Nicholls State offered both Allen and Lewis in May as their respective recruitment began to gain momentum heading into the summer, including each receiving offers from FBS programs. And after just over a month in each case, the Colonels managed to add their commitments. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1801050' first='Jaden' last='Bayonne'] —&nbsp;6-6, 275 DL —&nbsp;Alexandria —&gt; Mississippi State</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The highest-ranked member of his Trojans' loaded senior class became one of the headline prospects to announce his decision during a busy July 1 of news and did not disappoint as he pledged to the Bulldogs, citing the opportunity to play in the SEC and his confidence in the vision for contention in the near future in Starkville. Bayonne has been a major stock-riser in the class during the past year and is viewed as a high-upside prospect who is only beginning to scratch the surface of his potential. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Phillip Cenac —&nbsp;6-5, 265 OL —&nbsp;Vandebilt Catholic —&gt; Louisiana (Lafayette)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='934558' first='Ansinneo' last='Charles Jr.'] —&nbsp;6-5, 205 EDGE/TE —&nbsp;Lafayette Renaissance —&gt; Louisiana (Lafayette) </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Ragin' Cajuns added another couple key in-state pieces to their 2027 commitment class in July with announcements by Cenac and Charles. The former has been a relatively under-the-radar prospect, but versatile offensive lineman with a great frame for the next level who earned all-district honors this fall and picked up Nicholls State, Air Force, Southern and Louisiana (Lafayette) offers this offseason. The latter meanwhile has been a longtime highly ranked prospect in the PRZLA rankings and, after working back from injury, saw a surge in his recruitment in recent months that included Mississippi State, Houston, Syracuse, Louisiana Tech, Texas State, Arkansas State and Tulane among some of his other most recent offers before opting to lock in with the hometown Cajuns. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
