Get 30% off your first billing cycle with code: howe30 in the coupon code area

Colleges have done well in mining Iowa's 2027 recruiting class. Twelve different guys have verbally committed to Power 4 programs. Quite a few others have pledged to FBS and FCS schools.

Even with those sizable numbers, a lot of talent from the state for the cycle remains in the board. Here's a closer look at a group of them:

[player_tooltip player_id='1716547' first='Luis' last='Buck'], ATH, Solon

Announced offers: Mount Mercy.

The Situation: Buck earned honorable mention all-district recognition after contributing on both sides of the ball for a Solon squad that reached the state semifinals in 2025. The junior flashed upside as a linebacker that could also project at safety in certain college schemes. His work at running back provides evidence that he might develop at that position on the next level. His junior highlight video reveals a skill set and speed that would work well on special teams, too.

At a camp last month, Mount Mercy extended an opportunity for Buck to play college football. Buck also was on campus at Northwestern College, Simpson, Coe and Buena Vista this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1849088' first='Brody' last='Clark'], ATH, Mount Pleasant

Announced offers: None.

The Situation: Clark is one of the more interesting 2027 Iowa prospects remaining on the recruiting board, impacting games on both sides of the ball for Mount Pleasant. He enters his senior season this fall coming off of a junior campaign that saw him catch 32 passes for 380 yards and five touchdowns, all of which were team highs. Clark registered 32.5 tackles, 24 of which were solo stops, 5.5 tackles for loss and a pair of interceptions with one of them being a Pick-6. His junior highlight video reveals a prospect capable of developing on both sides of the ball, which gives prospective colleges options with limited roster sizes.

Iowa, Iowa State and Mankota had him at camps this spring and summer. With his projectable frame, positional versatility and athleticism, he's worth look from a lot more schools on the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581280' first='Henry' last='Clevenger'], WR, Johnston

Announced offers: None.

The Situation: On a Johnston offense with a lot of mouths to feed in the passing game, Clevenger carved out a role leading to 21 Receptions for 328 yards and four touchdowns on the way to second-team all-district honors. His top junior highlight video impresses. Clevenger operates effectively out of the slot with quickness in space that's tough for defenders to match. There's speed to stretch the field, a wide catch radius and strength to overpower defensive backs. The latter also helps him block in the run game, and it's a frame capable of filling out and adding more in that aspect of the game.

Clevenger camped at Iowa, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, Drake and Grand View last month. He visited Upper Iowa and Minnesota State Moorhead junior days in the spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='1848964' first='TaShawn' last='Conner'], WR, PCM

Announced offers: None.

The Situation: Conner stood out as a Knoxville junior in 2025, when he hauled in 28 balls for 454 yards and three touchdowns. He also displayed upside as a defensive back and in the return game. His junior highlight video offers up evidence that there could a future on either side of the ball and early contributions on special teams. It's a frame capable of filling out and adding strength without the loss of athleticism that already leads to success. Conner has moved to PCM, which has enjoyed more recent success than Knoxville, meaning it could lead to increased interest from programs on the next level.

Drake played host to Conner for a junior day in late April. He's also heard from Eastern Illinois, Grand View, Northwest Missouri State, Minnesota Moorhead and others.

[player_tooltip player_id='2048622' first='Aiden' last='Curtis'], DT, Indianola

Announced offers: None.

The Situation: Curtis is a college prospect in football and track, and also stands out in wrestling on the high school level. He visited South Dakota State for football and track on consecutive days last month. On the gridiron, Curtis is a force on the interior of the defensive line. His multi-sport participation helps him operate with slick feet and excellent leverage as we can witness when watching his junior highlight video. He recorded 15 solo tackles, eight tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks in 2025. Curtis' agility, athleticism and power would work in a 4-3 or as a nose guard in a 3-4.

Grand View offered him a college opportunity in early April. Oklahoma State, Temple, Kansas and other larger schools invited him to campus. He visited Drake, Augustana, Wayne State and Sioux Falls this year.
