On his Hudl page, Clark lists his position as “defensive utility”. And when you watch his junior highlight video, he provides evidence as to why he does so. Mount Pleasant moves him around the formation from starting out off the edge, to dropping back to outside linebacker to beginning the play at safety. The mix of quickness, speed and physicality work as he pursues the football from various locations. Clark operates with strong hands and a high motor, which make it tough for blockers to square him up. Lateral quickness and straight-line speed keep him in plays from snap to whistle. Solid tackling technique aids him in finishing plays. The package of traits also work well at receiver, where versatility at the position leads to much success. He finished his 11th-grade campaign with 32 receptions for 380 yards and five touchdowns. He piled up 32.5 tackles with 24 of those stops being of the solo variety. Clark came up with 5.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also picked off two passes.
