Fireworks: Explosive 2029's to Watch in Kentucky This Fall

In the spirit of America's 250th birthday yesterday, let's take a look at some emerging firecrackers throughout the Bluegrass. We're looking at the 2029 class specifically today, so let's dive in.    If you're looking for a big-time playmaker with the ball in his hands -- look no further than [player_tooltip player_id='1579153' first='Brody' last='Hart']. Hart had an excellent freshman season, where he was utilized as both a wide receiver and a safety, two positions where he excelled. As a DB, Hart has a great sense for the football, anticipating throws, cutting them off, and creating opportunities for his offense to get back on the field. Offensively, Hart is used all over the field as its Swiss Army Knife. However, he's impressive as a receiver, where he makes defenders miss, has soft hands, and can secure the ball even through contact.     [player_tooltip player_id='1796954' first='Mylan' last='Peters'] is a highly-touted WR/ATH for Danville. Peters is quick out of his stance and takes long, agile strides to break free in the open field. He's an excellent route-runner and has proven his ability to make contested catches against tight coverage. Peters is a playmaker with the ball in his hands and is used in quick throw schemes where he's demonstrated patience following blocks and weaving through the defense. He's hard to catch and often makes defenders miss with double and hesitation moves. I expect Peters to have a breakout sophomore season for Danville.     [player_tooltip player_id='1792035' first='Rishard' last='Green'] runs hard and downhill for Union County. Green plays a mature game -- hitting holes, following blocks, and he's hard to trip up in the open field. He's also an explosive threat as a kickoff returner on special teams. As a tailback, however, what most impresses me is that while he has solid juke and hesitation moves, Green isn't afraid to run through a wall of defenders trying to bring him down. He's powerful enough to fight for extra yards despite facing contact from multiple angles.     [player_tooltip player_id='1409050' first='Neilan' last='Bruce'] is a multi-sport athlete for Hopkins County Central who played QB and SS during his freshman football season. He's a QB, but defensively, he proved himself to be a run-stopper from the safety position, often finding himself in the backfield and blowing up plays before the offense has a chance. He hits hard and flies around the field. Under center, Bruce is mobile in the pocket and does a good job at sensing pressure and when his pocket is collapsing. He has a quick trigger that helps him get the ball out fast. He also plays a key role on special teams, including kickoff and field goal defense.     Another two-way standout, [player_tooltip player_id='870199' first='Connor' last='Lewis'], plays both wide receiver and defensive back for Pulaski County. Most of his reps came at the Freshman/JV level in 2025, but he proved to be a dangerous weapon on both sides of the ball. Defensively, Lewis closes on the ball quickly and is a reliable tackler in the open field. He has proven his ability to jump routes and make a play on the ball. He also keeps a good watch on the quarterback's eyes, which is a mature trait for him to have at his age. Offensively, Lewis is a speedy route runner who can be used in several packages and can catch the ball without breaking stride. I'd like to see some more offensive film from him during his sophomore season.
