Small-School Offensive Linemen To Know

One thing I loved last year was taking the time to break down players by classification. Players in the smaller classifications get overlooked, and it can be helpful to spotlight the guys who will play huge roles in the playoff picture. He's an athletic, smart player who excels in the classroom and is an offer candidate for several high-academic institutions. He's a multi-sport athlete who seems to get better every time we see him on the football field.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1654985' first='Carter' last='Donovan']</strong> | ALA-Johnston</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We've seen Donovan at a couple of offseason camps, and he looked excellent at the Carolinas Coaches' Combine. He's a taller tackle with a 79-inch wingspan and flexibility in his hips. ALA-Johnston loses some key pieces this season, but Donovan returns with the chance to be one of the best offensive linemen in the 2A class, with some more refinement and experience.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1687745' first='Tee' last='Hollifield']</strong> | Shelby</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It feels like you can't make a "small-school" list without a guy or two from Shelby. Hollifield is arguably the top prospect on the defending 3A Champions' roster, with multiple FBS offers to his name. He played his sophomore season as a leaner tackle, so there's room to add weight, but his power and movement skills make it obvious he's a top recruit.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2167978' first='Houser' last='Crowell']</strong> | Bishop McGuinness</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Crowell has flown under the radar, but the rising junior has excellent size and a physical, aggressive demeanor on the field. Bishop McGuinness loses its leading receiver, running back, and quarterback this year to graduation, but the offensive line is experienced. Expect the Villains to rely heavily on Crowell and his teammates up front, especially early in the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2043968' first='Charles' last='Eure']</strong> | Hertford County</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We first wrote about Eure <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/look-ahead-5-future-2027-stock-risers/">early this offseason</a> as a guy who could ultimately put together a strong spring to move up the rankings. That came true, as he thrived in camp settings and earned several Division II offers. He's big, powerful, and his footwork is excellent.
