Kentucky 2030s To Know About This Offseason

With football season right around the corner, there's a ton of exciting prospects from the class of 2030 that are preparing to take the field this upcoming fall. In the Bluegrass State, there's no shortage of talent as an abundance of rising 9th graders have showcased their talent on the field this offseason. Without any further ado, here's my list of some Kentucky 2030s to know about this offseason.    In the first place spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1306237' first='Kal' last='Ridner'], a quarterback at Pulaski County High School. Ridner is definitely one of the top signal callers in the state of Kentucky in his class. In addition to excellent size, Ridner has a powerful arm, a great spin on the ball, and pin-point accurate passing. I also really like Ridner's ability to quickly scan the backfield and launch the deep ball. Ridner has already started garnering college attention as he holds one offer from Murray State.     I am additionally impressed with [player_tooltip player_id='1306170' first='Draedon' last='Littlejohn'], a wide receiver/athlete at Boyle County High School. Littlejohn is a talented prospect out of the Danville area to get more familiar with. On top of a great frame and a solid wingspan, Littlejohn offers a ton of scoring upside as he has great hands and can quickly get down the field for the deep pass. Another facet of Littlejohn's game that stands out is his explosiveness in coverage, proving he can juke out the defense and get wide open for the pass. Littlejohn currently holds an EKU offer.     Claiming the number three spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1306193' first='LJ' last='Smith IV'], an offensive lineman/defensive lineman at Louisville Male High School. Smith is a really exciting incoming freshman to keep an eye on as his outstanding size, strength, and ability to overwhelm his opponent is going to come in handy this upcoming fall. I caught Smith in action during our recent Prep Redzone Next Camp in Nashville and he did not disappoint. Smith currently holds offers from Eastern Kentucky and Kentucky State.     Another top tier prospect to know about is [player_tooltip player_id='1841205' first='Gavin' last='Walker'], a running back/athlete at Owensboro High School. Walker is without question going to be one of the top running backs in the state of Kentucky. With outstanding size, strong footwork, and electric speed off the snap, Walker is going to put up a lot of touchdowns over his high school football career and is certainly worth keeping an eye on as he continues to develop.     I also really like what I've seen from [player_tooltip player_id='2160307' first='Aslan' last='James'], an offensive lineman/defensive lineman at Owensboro High School. James offers excellent size and strength at the line of scrimmage, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Another aspect of James that caught my attention was his ability to read his opponent and use his arms to create solid pushback. James could prove to be very productive over the next four years.     Another prospect to know about is [player_tooltip player_id='1295318' first='Kellan' last='Newton'], an offensive lineman at Pulaski County High School. Newton is another high level lineman out of the Bluegrass State to become more familiar with. I really like Newton's ability to hit the defense hard and buy his quarterback time to make plays. Newton also contributes solid speed and strength off the snap which will definitely come in handy. Newton recently picked up his first offer from Eastern Kentucky.     Also worth mentioning is [player_tooltip player_id='1663991' first='Connor' last='Maxie'], a wide receiver at Paducah Tilghman High School. In addition to outstanding height and a great wingspan, Maxie impresses me with his versatile edge and strong catching ability. With Maxie's phenomenal athleticism and frame, he could definitely develop into a dangerous offensive weapon down the stretch. This talented prospect out of the Paducah area is going to be an exciting player to watch on Friday nights.     I'm also really impressed with [player_tooltip player_id='1311339' first='Carter' last='Lawless'], an offensive lineman/defensive lineman at Somerset High School. This talented big man has a ton of upside entering his freshman campaign. On top of excellent size and speed at the line of scrimmage, I really like how Lawless can be physical off the snap and quickly overwhelm his foe. Lawless has already garnered college attention, earning D1 opportunities from both EKU and LSU.
