Kentucky 2028s To Know Next Season

With the kickoff to the high school football season in just a few months, it's time to take a look at some talented prospects from around the Bluegrass State that should have an exciting year on the field. To start things off, here's my list of some 2028s in Kentucky to know this upcoming fall.    In the first place spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='871291' first='Avery' last='Thompson'], a wide receiver at Paducah Tilghman High School. Thompson is without question one of the top prospects in the state. With excellent size, a great wingspan, and electric speed off the snap, Thompson is a not a player to sleep on. The talented offensive playmaker out of the Paducah area should have a very productive season this upcoming fall.     I am additionally impressed with [player_tooltip player_id='470192' first='Ashton' last='Taylor'], a running back at Trinity High School. Taylor is definitely one of the top prospects in the state of Kentucky. On top of great speed and strength, Taylor stands out with his outstanding footwork and ability to juke out the defense. This elite scoring weapon out of the Louisville area is due for a breakout season this upcoming fall.     Claiming the number three spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='2136575' first='Kingston' last='Dillard'], a wide receiver at Owensboro High School. Dillard is one of the more athletic prospects in the state of Kentucky in his class. I watched Dillard haul in a one-handed touchdown pass during a 7-on-7 tournament this offseason. Dillard's explosive movement and ability to be versatile in the endzone makes him a huge scoring threat.     Another elite prospect to know about is [player_tooltip player_id='953600' first='Kyle' last='Sledge Jr.'], a defensive back at Glasgow High School. Sledge has been on my radar for a while and has added a few offers to his resume since hitting high school. In addition to excellent size and speed, Sledge does a really good job of reading the offense and getting in perfect position for the interception.     I also really like what I've seen from [player_tooltip player_id='1907207' first='Jess' last='Officer'], a linebacker at Oldham County High School. On top of excellent size and speed off the snap, Officer does a great job of reading the offense like a book and quickly blasting into the pocket to make the stop. Another facet to Officer's playstyle that stands out is his ability to shut down receivers off the short pass, proving he can quickly get into position to make the crucial stop. Officer will definitely be an elite prospect to keep an eye on this upcoming fall.     Another prospect worth mentioning is [player_tooltip player_id='317589' first='Connor' last='Blevins'], an offensive lineman at Pulaski County High School. Blevins is one of my favorite linemen in Kentucky's 2028 class. With outstanding size, speed, and strength at the line of scrimmage, Blevins does a great job hitting the defense hard and absorbing contact off the snap. Blevins is certainly worth keeping an eye on this upcoming season.     Another talented prospect to know is [player_tooltip player_id='2066970' first='Zach' last='Thomas'], a wide receiver at Corbin High School. Thomas caught my attention this offseason with his outstanding frame, great wingspan, and strong catching ability. Thomas also showcases great versatility down the stretch, which helps him get wide open for the deep pass. Thomas is another top tier prospect out of the Bluegrass State to know about this upcoming season.
