An Ivy League for the most part until this month, [player_tooltip player_id='2088789' first='Isaac' last='Brownlee'] of Clear Lake picked up an offer from Drake on Wednesday.

A true corner, Brownlee plays some of the best press-man coverage in the state. Getting his hands on a defensive back at the line and keeping tight coverage on them throughout his route, Brownlee is a head ache to deal with for both wide receivers and quarterbacks

Also able to play excellent zone coverage for the Lions, Brownlee uses his 6-foot-5 wingspan and speed to get his hand on the ball in the air, posting a ridiculously good (and possibly inflated) 21 pass-breakups (PBUs) in addition to three interceptions last season, including a pick-six.

One of the 2028 prospects we deemed worthy of more Division I attention in March, [player_tooltip player_id='1588754' first='Lucas' last='Goodrich'] picked up his first Division I offer from the new staff at Iowa State in the beginning of May. Since, he's added offers from Florida Atlantic and Miami of Ohio.

Set to once again be an anchor for the City High offensive line at left tackle, Goodrich will have an opportunity to take a big step forward this fall with more consistent quarterback play and a star running back behind him.

As written when we shared our belief regarding his future in college football, "Fleet of foot, especially for his size, Goodrich moves well as a puller and gets out to plow the way on screen passes." Given the speed he possesses at his size, Goodrich has a ton of potential.

With the amount of Division I -- specifically Drake -- offers Johnston has picked up this offseason, the Dragons sure better be contenders when the season rolls around this fall.

The latest of the group, [player_tooltip player_id='2059685' first='Zachary' last='Grider'], feels like a perfect fit for an FCS safety. Rangy and able to snag a pick under duress from the passing target, Grider possesses excellent ball skills and strong hands. With great feet, Grider is an instinctual DB that reads and reacts well, both in the passing game downfield and in intermediate routes and screen passes. Once the ball is out, Grider reacts.

It'd be a whiff by other scholarship FCS programs to not go after a prospect like Grider.

A prospect we've profiled twice recently in regards to his recruitment, [player_tooltip player_id='1617649' first='Neil' last='James'] is one of the more overlooked prospects in the state, finally receiving his first Division I offer from Drake on Tuesday.

A fluid athlete with top-tier track speed and the ability to run down ball-carriers who escape into the secondary, James is a defensive back of whom's effort can't be questioned.

Similar to Grider, it's a bit of a surprise that James hasn't picked up more interest from FCS programs, as his length and strength, paired with his aforementioned speed afford him opportunities in coverage to turn the ball over and rack up PBUs.

The latest in-state offer in the class of 2028, [player_tooltip player_id='2222026' first='Asher' last='Megonnell'] earned an offer from the new Iowa State staff at camp this last week -- the first of his recruitment.

A tall, long prospect with overwhelming size, Megonnell has a ton of room to fill out his large frame, but he already used it fairly effectively in limited snaps for Centennial last season. Able to just flat-out plow defensive linemen over at the line of scrimmage in the run, there was little-to-nothing opposing DL could do once the monstruos Megonnell got his hands on them. In the passing game, his size and frame allows him to keep defensive players in front of him, and his length keeps them at bay from his quarterback.

It's smart of Iowa State to get in early on a prospect like Megonnell, who has a chance to have his recruitment blow up this summer and fall.
