Inside The Film Room 2nd Edition

With a little bit of time before I get into some team and conference previews, I will be digging into the film of players all across North Carolina and giving my thoughts and analysis in a new series I'm calling Inside The Film Room! Caleb is a good-looking player physically, and with his height, he routinely shows that he can high-point the football on both offense and defense, making some nice catches while flashing an impressive vertical leap ability. Caleb is effective in the short screen game and can show some nice agility for his size in the open field. He plays both sides of the ball, but I like his upside more as a wide receiver. Caleb has a strong ability to run a variety of routes on the tree, and his physicality shows on defense when he isn't afraid to get dirty in run support. Caleb currently holds an offer from Concord University.     Armani is an intriguing rising junior who has the frame that you get excited about from a growth and potential perspective. In his first three clips, Armani ends up getting sacks or tackles for loss by using power to defeat offensive tackles and knowing how to retrace his steps when a quarterback attempts to step up in the pocket. Armani does a good job of pinching down and chasing on inside runs with a nice burst off the line of scrimmage when his tackle releases inside. He shows this on multiple occasions, a reflection of being coached well. I'm excited to see him take another step this upcoming season.     Landen requested to be a part of this series once we announced it on social media, so we'll dig into his film here. I know him from seeing him in person at multiple showcases, but he's a dynamic running back who can explode into the open field, as he shows on his first clip. On his second clip, he takes a simple dive play for 70 yards, using a nice combination of speed and vision right up the middle of the field. Landen shows a good ability to run through solo tackle attempts in the open field, and he's a smart runner who is always going north/south, without a lot of wasted motion. Landen currently has an offer from Cornell University.     The size got my attention when looking at Jacoby, so I was excited to dive into his film. First play, instant pancake with a great getoff in the running game. That got my attention. As a left tackle, you don't see run blocking like that. Jacoby is athletic and can climb to the 2nd level in the running game with ease. He also excels in getting out into space on the quick screen game and blocking 2nd and 3rd level players. The one thing I think that would take his game to the next level is finishing blocks - his initial knockback is really good. He is a breakout candidate to watch this season.     Remi'e is a player I've seen up close at multiple showcases, and he's a good offensive line prospect. His film from last season shows a player who is continuing to develop at a good pace. He absolutely is a people mover on down blocks in the running game. I saw that multiple times from him on film. Straight-ahead blocking also produces multiple pancakes. I love seeing the blocking to the echo of the whistle, too, that shows a player who loves contact and the game simultaneously. I've seen his pass protection ability at showcases, so he's got the package to be successful; he just has to go out and put it all on film this year.
