Faulkner June Prospect Camp: OL Standouts

It was a talented group of prospects competing to learn and potentially earn an offer from the homestanding Eagles. Here were the OL standouts from Saturday's camp!   Claim or create your FREE player profile <a href="https://prepredzone.com/prospect-index/">here</a>!    2027 Auburn OL [player_tooltip player_id='1674342' first='Isaiah' last='Fields'] looked exactly like what you would expect from a prospect holding multiple D1 offers. Fields brought a combination of size, strength, and athleticism that was evident throughout the day, and he consistently held his own against a talented defensive line group. What stood out most was his ability to anchor against power while maintaining enough mobility to recover if defenders had good initial positioning. Fields showed good lower-body strength throughout the workout, allowing him to absorb contact without giving up much ground. Just as importantly, he moved his feet well and stayed engaged through the entirety of reps rather than relying solely on his physical tools. There were several quality offensive linemen in attendance, but Fields left a strong impression on me as one of the top performers of the group.     2027 Williamson OL Braylin Nelson may still be adding size to his frame, but I thought he showed why coaches get excited about his potential and athleticism. Nelson kept his feet working from snap to whistle and handled quicker edge rushers and ends better than many linemen who were further along physically. He stayed balanced throughout reps, mirrored well in pass protection, and showed the ability to recover when defenders tried to counter. What stood out was how comfortable he looked in space, a rare trait for a lot of offensive linemen. The strength and mass will continue to come as he develops, but Nelson already has a strong foundation to build from and a high ceiling as a player because of it.     The offer from Faulkner felt well deserved after watching 2027 Fayette Ware (TN) OL Kaden Rogers work throughout the day. Rogers brought plenty of size and strength to the offensive line group, but he also moved better than most big men his size. He kept his feet active through the whistle, mirrored defensive linemen effectively, and looked comfortable moving in 1-on-1s. Rogers also showed the power to finish blocks once he got into position, putting them on the ground in several reps. When challenged by stronger interior defenders, he did a nice job sitting down in his stance, maintaining leverage, and anchoring against power. Rogers' physicality was expected, but the foot quickness and ability to stay engaged throughout reps helped him stand out and earn an offer from the Eagles.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/kaden_rogers15/status/2063327883431457057 </div></figure>     Power was the first thing that stood out to me when watching 2027 Thibodaux (LA) OL Caleb Williams compete in 1-on-1s. Williams brought a strong, compact build to the camp that consistently translated to impressive play strength. Interior defenders had a difficult time moving him off his spot, as he repeatedly sank his hips, maintained his leverage, and absorbed contact without giving ground. Williams also did a nice job keeping his hands inside and striking the chest of defenders, allowing him to control reps once he got engaged. His pad level remained consistent throughout the day, which only added to his effectiveness when anchoring. By the end of the camp, I thought Williams had put together the type of performance that warranted serious consideration for an offer.     2027 Williamson OL Omari Spencer-Westry made the most of his opportunity on Saturday, earning an offer from Faulkner after a strong performance in front of the Eagles' staff. Spencer-Westry was not the tallest offensive lineman in the group, but he understood how to use his build to his advantage. He consistently played with good leverage, stayed underneath defenders, and relied on power and positioning. Spencer-Westry also did a nice job placing his hands inside and controlling defenders once he got engaged. His athleticism showed up as well, as he kept his feet active and stayed in front of rushers throughout the day. By the end of the camp, it was easy to see why Faulkner felt comfortable extending an offer.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/OjWestry/status/2063323772912836866 </div></figure>     2027 Tallassee OL [player_tooltip player_id='1636089' first='Michael' last='Lainez'] was one of the more underrated offensive linemen I watched on Saturday. I was only able to catch part of the big man competition, but Lainez made the most of the reps I saw. His broad build and lower center of gravity made him a difficult matchup for defensive linemen trying to work around him or gain positional advantage. Lainez also moved well in the short area, showing the foot quickness to adequately mirror and stay attached as reps developed. He consistently played with good leverage, getting underneath defenders and knocking them off their path. Based on what I saw, he is a player worthy of small college consideration.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/yomike726/status/2063338912055980127 </div></figure>     2027 Memphis Central (TN) OL Taevon Cummings was a good reminder that there is more than one way to win a rep. While some of the offensive linemen in attendance relied on foot quickness and range, Cummings leaned into his strength and physicality. He consistently worked to get his hands on defenders early, and once he did, it was difficult for rushers to disengage. Cummings showed the grip strength to sustain blocks and the power to absorb contact without getting knocked off balance. His game is not built around elite mobility, but he understands how to use positioning and play strength to his advantage. I would not be surprised if his skill set translates even better on Friday nights in the run game, where his physical nature can really show up. Small college programs looking for a tough, strong offensive lineman should take a look.     2027 Bibb County OL Tre Hedrick was one of several interior offensive linemen who had success on Saturday, but his ability to anchor stood out to me. Hedrick has a broad, powerful build and understands how to use it. He consistently played with good pad level and leverage throughout the day. Defensive linemen had a hard time moving him once he settled into position, as he did a nice job sinking his hips and absorbing contact without giving up much ground. Hedrick also showed the strength to control reps when he got squared up, forcing rushers to work around him rather than through him. He may not have the longest frame in the group, but when Hedrick stayed balanced and mirrored his man, he was a difficult offensive lineman to beat.     2028 Faith Academy OL [player_tooltip player_id='2225341' first='Miller' last='Bedsole'] was one of those players I kept noticing throughout the day, despite not getting as many 1-on-1 reps on video as some of the other linemen. Bedsole has a stocky, powerful build and plays the game with the kind of toughness you want from an interior offensive lineman. His leverage and pad level consistently work in his favor, and going back through his sophomore film reinforced a lot of what I saw in person. Bedsole moves well in the short area, shows the ability to pull effectively in the run game, and is constantly looking for work. He plays with a physical edge, and I think that style would translate well to the small college level.
