Commitment Watch: Texas Recruits Make Their College Decisions

<p>As the week begins, some of the state of Texas' top football talent are making their decisions on where they will spend the next four years. We take a look at prospects who have come off of the recruiting boards around the country and where they are headed to play at the next level.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Beyer is a workhorse in the trenches, he has a versatile skill set that enables him to line up inside or he can attack offenses off the edge. He is extremely quick off the ball, he has violent hands combined with a toolbox full of moves that enables him to win his matchups consistently. Beyer was super productive in 2025, registering 15.5 sacks, 5 blocked punts, 41 TFLs and 83 total tackles. He choose to head north to Wyoming, picking the Cowboys over the likes of Houston, Georgia State, Boston College, North Texas and Arkansas State. Whether he is throwing the football, running the rock or making clutch catches at receiver, Haynes can do special things with the football in his hands. He is a threat to score from any down or distance. Kobe has breakaway speed, he excels at runs after the catch and his ability to make defenders miss enables him to be a difference maker. He is a big play waiting to happen no matter where he lines up. Haynes's stats were video game like during his junior season, registering 3,552 total yards and 45 total touchdowns. He runs crisp routes, he has reliable hands that attack the ball at the catch point and his extended reach allows him to win jump balls in heavy traffic. Evan can line up inline or out wide and become an immediate mismatch for defenses. He is an elite blocker, who is technically sound, he is strong at the point of attack and when he locks on his opponent he gains control through the whistle. Macken will take his talents to New Mexico at the next level. He is explosive off the ball, his ability to play with good leverage keeps his opponents from getting hands on him and he pushes the pocket, disrupting the flow of his opponents offensively. He has superb lateral quickness combined with excellent balance, which enables him to make plays in the backfield. Jackson is headed west to New Mexico State. He is a ballhawk who has the speed to cover ground on the backend. Davis is a sure tackler who finishes plays with physicality. He can line up at safety or cornerback and shut down passing lanes. He has great instincts and his ability to diagnose plays quickly enables him to shut down plays in a hurry. Waller has the sideline to sideline speed that college coaches covet in a middle linebacker at the next level. Hicks Jr. has seen reps at tackle and guard, showing his the versatility to play more than one position at a high level. He is extremely athletic with great feet that enables him to get to the second level to make big blocks downfield in the run game. The Horned Frogs are getting the ultimate playmaker, who can change the game defensively or offensively in a heartbeat. Deal is a big body target offensively, who runs crisp routes and his speed and wiggle in the open field allows him to excel after the catch. Defensively he has great ball skills combined with clean footwork and he is a sure tackler in the open field.
