The Tennessee Class of 2027 is one of the most talent-rich recruiting classes in recent memory, featuring quality prospects at every position, including several who are flying well under the radar. In this new series breaking down Tennessee's top 2027 recruits, I'll spotlight the most overlooked athletes at each position as we enter the most critical stretch of the recruiting calendar.

Next, here are five rising senior wide receivers in the Tennessee Class of 2027 who have flashed big potential throughout their careers. Whether it's inconsistency, a limited body of film or questions about size, each pass catcher on this list is not receiving the respect they deserve heading into their senior seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='2158318' first='Noel' last='Meza-Flores'] – Eagleton College & Career Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='2158318' first='Noel' last='Meza-Flores'] is one of the top players in the 2A classification this past season, earning Prep Redzone All-State honors. He was a productive piece to his offense, recording over 600 yards and showcasing his ability to change the game. The rising senior will likely be Eagleton's No. 1 option next season, where he's due for a breakout campaign.

He offers great size for his position, standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 195 pounds, with an athletic build that allows him to be extremely fluid. He has a filled-out frame that's rather impressive for someone in 2A, and he uses it well. Another thing that stands out about Meza-Flores is his speed, as he recently notched a 4.57 40-yard dash, which is excellent for his size.

The 2027 prospect excels in jump-ball situations where he consistently makes defensive backs look silly. He must develop in some areas and become a more well-rounded receiver, but he has all the tools to be a contributor at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1629937' first='Kaden' last='Webber'] – Grace Christian Academy (Knoxville)

[player_tooltip player_id='1629937' first='Kaden' last='Webber'] is one of the most dynamic athletes in Tennessee who can play every position on the field, but is best suited at wide receiver, where his athleticism dominates. Over the past two seasons, he's caught 90 passes for 1,158 yards and 16 touchdowns, along with upside as a rusher. With a new quarterback coming in for the 2026 season, he should have the best season of his career, which will drive up his recruiting.

He offers good size for his position, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 185 pounds with an athletic frame that's built to play the outside receiver position. Webber is a terrific athlete, as evidenced by a 4.53-second 40-yard dash, which helps him blow past defensive backs and makes him one of the most dangerous deep threats in Tennessee.

The rising senior is a good route runner with polished technique that allows him to create much separation. My favorite part of his game, and it's an underrated part, is his physicality. The 2027 prospect is a defensive back on the other side of the ball, which has primed him to always play tough. Webber welcomes contact and is able to make tough grabs because of that, making him usable on all downs and at every spot on the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='933063' first='Kaden' last='Grigsby'] – Nashville Christian School

[player_tooltip player_id='933063' first='Kaden' last='Grigsby'] was Nashville Christian's leading receiver in 2025, catching 39 passes for 635 yards (16.3 yards per catch) and 10 touchdowns in 13 games. It was a good junior campaign, but he's been productive every year for NCS, totaling over 1,600 career receiving yards.

He's a versatile receiver who mainly lines up inside, but can do whatever is needed. The Eagles have used him on screens, RPOs, deep shots, short stuff and intermediate passes. He's a compact pass catcher, standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 185 pounds, but is highly athletic, plays with a relentless motor, is a good route runner and has solid hands.

I love do-it-all players like Grigsby who can change the game in so many areas. He's one of the top offensive players in Tennessee for 2027 and has one more season to prove himself to scouts.

[player_tooltip player_id='1410131' first='Lexton' last='Baskin'] – Brentwood Academy

Brentwood Academy's [player_tooltip player_id='1410131' first='Lexton' last='Baskin'] holds double-digit offers and is the No. 9 wide receiver in Tennessee, per Prep Redzone. But he is still one of the most underrated players in the class. He has not been allowed to truly showcase his abilities because of how loaded his offense is, but the rising senior is a Power Four player in my eyes. After another offseason to develop, we should see Baskin take that next step.

He offers solid size for his position, standing 6-foot and weighing 175 pounds with an athletic frame and long arms. The 2027 prospect is a unique player, as he can move all over the field and be used in a multitude of ways. He excels at going over the middle of the field to catch passes, but can also hit defenses downfield for chunk plays. Baskin is highly athletic with length to move the chains inside and out of the hashes.

The wideout doesn't have top-end size, but is tough and high-points the football well, making up for a decent bit of what he may lack in size. He has nice hands and is one of the best at tracking balls, especially on deep routes where he must adjust. I love the upside with this receiver and am excited to see what he looks like heading into his senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2101290' first='Gavin' last='Johnson'] – Riverdale High School

[player_tooltip player_id='2101290' first='Gavin' last='Johnson'] is one of the more intriguing wide receiver prospects in this class. He transferred to Riverdale earlier this year, and has already turned heads as a potential breakout guy who can be productive at the next level. He's coming off a standout junior season with Centennial, where he caught 43 passes for 737 yards and 11 touchdowns. Now catching passes for a blue-chip QB, the wideout could be one of the recruiting risers this summer and heading into the 2026 season.

He offers solid size for his position, standing 6-foot and weighing 175 pounds in an athletic frame with excellent physical tools. Johnson is one of the fastest players at his position, recently notching a 4.47-second 40-yard dash with the skills to win downfield, making him dangerous. The rising senior has nice hands, is elusive, has elite athleticism and excels at deep shots. He's part of a loaded receiver room where he may very well be WR3, but Johnson will be a productive player. You would like for him to become more well-rounded to maximize his potential, but the 2027 prospect is still an FBS-caliber player.
