Welcome to Prep Redzone Oregon's 2026 Football Season Preview series! Over the next several weeks, I'll be highlighting programs from around the state as we count down to kickoff. Let's be honest, 6A football gets plenty of attention, so this series is all about shining a light on the outstanding players, coaches, and programs throughout Oregon's smaller classifications. Over the summer, I reached out to head coaches across the state to learn more about their teams heading into the season. These previews are built using their insight, giving fans a look at each program's expectations, players to watch, and goals for 2026. Every article is based on the coaches who took the time to respond, helping tell the story of their program.

2026 Ridgeview Ravens

Head coach Patrick Pileggi has Ridgeview football positioned to make another run in the Intermountain Conference. The Ravens finished the 2025 regular season with a 7-2 record and earned the No. 10 seed in the 5A state playoffs. Their season came to an end in one of the most entertaining first-round games of the postseason, falling to No. 7 Wilsonville 45-42 in a hard-fought battle.

Despite the playoff loss, Ridgeview continued to show it belongs among the top programs in 5A football. The Ravens have steadily closed the gap on the conference's top teams, and Coach Pileggi believes this year's group has the opportunity to take another step forward. That mentality has fueled a productive offseason as Ridgeview looks to build on last year's success.

The Ravens have already tested themselves against quality competition this summer, competing in the Mountain View Air Raid Tournament before traveling to the University of Idaho team camp. There, Ridgeview squared off with programs from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana, gaining valuable experience against strong competition. With another playoff-caliber roster returning, the Ravens are focused on turning close losses into statement wins this fall.

"We want to pick up where we left off last year," Pileggi said. "Another strong year and playoff berth are within reach, but we want to take the next step." That next step starts with challenging conference powers Summit and Mountain View while also taking care of business in their rivalry matchup against Redmond.

Chambers enters his senior season as one of the premier receivers in Oregon and has already begun drawing interest from multiple Big Sky programs, as well as schools in the Ivy League and Patriot League. Coach Pileggi believes his offseason transformation has taken his game to another level after shifting his training focus more toward football. Already known for his reliable hands, Chambers has become stronger, faster, and a more polished route runner, and don't be surprised if he puts together one of the best receiving seasons in the state this fall.

After leading Ridgeview in tackles last season, Homann returns as one of the veteran leaders of the defense. While undersized by college standards, he makes up for it with legitimate speed, physicality, and a relentless motor. Expect him to once again be around the football all season long.

Geaslin anchors the middle of Ridgeview's defense with a physical style of play. Coach Pileggi describes him as a "physical thumper" who runs well for an inside linebacker and brings a genuine passion for the game every Friday night. His leadership and toughness will be key pieces of the Ravens' defense.

Lick emerged as a shutdown corner during his sophomore campaign and will have an even bigger role this season as he splits time between cornerback and safety. He possesses good size, speed, and the versatility to impact the game in multiple ways. His ability to lock down opposing receivers will be a major asset for Ridgeview's secondary.

Schaefer brings game-breaking speed to the Ravens' offense and is another player college coaches should know. The junior recently ran a 4.6-second 40-yard dash at Eastern Washington's camp and consistently creates separation with his top-end speed. Ridgeview will look to utilize his explosiveness as a big-play threat throughout the season.

Becker saw varsity action late in his freshman season and looks poised for a much larger role this fall. His combination of size and athleticism immediately stands out, and Coach Pileggi believes he has the tools to develop into a standout player over the next three seasons. Ridgeview is excited about his long-term upside on both sides of the football.

A transfer from Arizona, Fehoko is another sophomore with tremendous potential. His size and athletic profile give him the opportunity to become an impact player as he continues to develop. Ridgeview believes he has the makeup of a legitimate college prospect over the coming years.

With one of the top receiving duos in 5A football, a talented sophomore class beginning to emerge, and several experienced defenders returning, Ridgeview appears primed to contend for another playoff berth. If the Ravens can take the next step against conference powers Summit and Mountain View, Coach Pileggi's squad has a chance to make plenty of noise in the Intermountain Conference this fall. Ridgeview opens the 2026 season on the road against Lebanon on August 28th.
