Offensive linemen were scarce at the Prep Redzone Exposure Series in Irvine, CA. last Sunday.

Every defensive lineman took some reps with the offensive linemen during the one-on-one period despite some of them never playing the position.

Here are the top offensive line performers from the event:

Baca was playing through a knee injury and had some of the best reps of the day during the one-on-one period. He is best as an interior lineman. Baca does a good job keeping his hips square to the line of scrimmage, using his footwork to mirror the defender and never gives up too much ground.

Baca was one of the few actual offensive linemen in attendance so his footwork during the individual drills was the best and he had good hand placement during the one-on-ones. He has offers from Cal, Colorado State, Hawaii, New Mexico and UNLV.

Castro is an edge rusher who took some reps at offensive line out of necessity and did a nice job. He has quick feet and picked up the footwork of an offensive lineman nicely for someone with little experience at the position.

This is nitpicky because he doesn't really play offensive line, but he could improve his post foot to the inside to cut off inside pass rush moves and work on his pad level. But those things are understandable given his inexperience on the offensive side. Castro is a competitor and gave it his all in every rep on both sides of the ball.

Scott was the other traditional offensive lineman at the camp which made him stand out during the one-on-one period.

He does a good job keeping his hips square the line of scrimmage in pass protection and not leaning too far forward. Scott is a pretty good hand-fighter although he could work on replacing his hands later in reps to keep separation with the defender. He had some really good reps in the one-on-one period and rarely gave up too much ground.
