My gameplay style is attack-and-react, using my agility, speed, and refined technique to consistently disrupt the backfield.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a team captain, I have learned the importance of responsibility and accountability both on and off the field. I lead with integrity, and communicate effectively with teammates. I set the tone through discipline, work ethic, and consistency.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have overcome adversity, including being underestimated and navigating challenges due to neurodivergence. These experiences have strengthened my resilience, work ethic, and determination to succeed at a high level.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am seeking a program that prioritizes player development, academic support, and strong mentorship. A coaching staff that believes in accountability, structure, and preparing athletes for life beyond sports is a top priority.

Castro had 35 tackles, nine for a loss with six sacks for Orange last season and had a strong showing at the Prep Redzone Exposure Series in May.

He is a stand up edge rusher who has a good mix of outside pass rush moves and inside ones. Castro is strong when he does engage with the offensive lineman and can shake blockers quickly. He has good short-area quickness and can make plays on run plays away from him. Castro recently got a rugby offer from Weber State.

Castro is an edge rusher who took some reps at offensive line out of necessity and did a nice job. He has quick feet and picked up the footwork of an offensive lineman nicely for someone with little experience at the position.

This is nitpicky because he doesn’t really play offensive line, but he could improve his post foot to the inside to cut off inside pass rush moves and work on his pad level. But those things are understandable given his inexperience on the offensive side. Castro is a competitor and gave it his all in every rep on both sides of the ball.
