National Preps Collegiate Showcase: Top QB Performers

National Preps had their Collegiate Showcase earlier this month. With roughly 200 of the top players from MD, DE, DC, PA, NJ, and VA with over 100 college coaches present to get eyes on that talent. Below are some of the Top QBs that caught my eye during the Showcase.

Trysten was lights out in all areas at the showcase. In testing, drill work and 1v1s he made his mark. In testing he ran a 4.74 laser 40 and broad jumped 9'7", both excellent numbers for his position. Trystan showed excellent footwork in position drills, being able to get everything into throwing on the run and a quick release. In 1v1s as well as all day long Trysten displayed excellent velocity on his passes and the ability to launch it downfield with accuracy. Overall Trysten is a dual threat QB that makes plays all over the field and puts up big numbers. I know plenty of colleges have eyes on Trysten after the NP Showcase and I wouldn't be surprised to see an offer come his way soon.

Looking forward to learning and competing 9 May @NPCoachZim @tdhald pic.twitter.com/udDb3xlFGn
— Trysten “TJ” Johnson (@trysten20603132) April 29, 2026

David is another QB making his name known this spring and did so at the NP Showcase as well. He continues to fill out his long frame and get stronger while still keeping his athleticism. Doy ran 4.86 laser 40 and broad jumped 9'3", showing off his explosiveness that makes him a threat running the ball from the QB spot as well. David is able to generate a lot of power behind his throws with just a flick of the wrist. He can get the ball deep down the field with good accuracy, consistently putting it out there for only the WR to be able to make a play on it. David also showed off good timing with his throws. Getting the ball out before the receivers break and putting it on them with nice zip. Expect David to have an excellent senior season as he looks to lead Linganore to back-to-back state championships.

Thank you @NPCoachZim for the camp invite. Overall he has had an impressive spring camp season and that first got underway at the NP event. He was near perfect in ROA and 1v1s on the day. What stood out to me the most was his timing on his throws. Blake gets the ball out quick, throwing before the WRs break and reading the route with good anticipation. He throws his receivers open with great accuracy and staying in rhythm. Blake also throws a nice catchable deep ball with good touch. He gets it up and down nicely putting where the WR can run under it and make a play on it. I expect Blake to be a QB riser throughout this summer and throughout his senior year.

Grateful for the Opportunity to compete the National Preps showcase camp. At the NP Showcase Luke showed off excellent arm strength on his deep ball passes. Pushing it down the field with nice touch, power and accuracy. He can get nice zip on short/intermediate throws to fit it into tight spaces. As well as put nice touch & placement on the pass for easy catches. Luke also displayed impressive footwork and lower body mechanics in his throws on the day. Luke has been on a tear this spring camp circuit getting more and more college attention that got under way earlier this month at the National Preps Collegiate Showcase.

Proud to represent @WJHS_FBall at the National Preps Showcase. Possessing a smooth, quick release with excellent arm mechanics. He has such a strong feel for the art of throwing the ball, understanding route running and ball placement. Brett gets the ball out quick with outstanding timing/anticipation and throwing in rhythm. While also getting good velocity, trajectory and superb accuracy consistently putting it right on the receivers hands. Brett is a high academic prospect, that translates that on to the field with a high football IQ & understanding of the game.

I had a great time at the @NPShowcases on Saturday!
