David is another QB making his name known this spring and did so at the NP Showcase as well. He continues to fill out his long frame and get stronger while still keeping his athleticism. Doy ran 4.86 laser 40 and broad jumped 9’3″, showing off his explosiveness that makes him a threat running the ball from the QB spot as well. David is able to generate a lot of power behind his throws with just a flick of the wrist. He can get the ball deep down the field with good accuracy, consistently putting it out there for only the WR to be able to make a play on it. David also showed off good timing with his throws. Getting the ball out before the receivers break and putting it on them with nice zip. Expect David to have an excellent senior season as he looks to lead Linganore to back-to-back state championships.

Doy was calm, collected, and opportunistic. Even though Matthews dominated as a runner, Doy was a key contributor as well on offense. He balanced designed runs with timely passes. Even when pressured, Doy turned broken plays into gains. He threw two touchdown passes, a 13-yarder and a 22-yarder. Doy controlled the offense with poise. I like his mobility both in and out of the pocket.
