Brett Paukstis
About Brett
Expert Analysis

St. Albans lost a lot on offense but still has one of the best quarterbacks in the DMV returning for his senior year. Paukstis completed 142-of-215 passes for 2,293 yards and 29 touchdowns last season. He’s the school’s record holder in passing yards and will most likely break other school records this upcoming season. Paukstis lost a few weapons in Martin, Cobb, and Samuel. My guess is that he’ll be asked to carry even more of an offensive load this season with his arm.

Brett shined in 1v1s during the NP Showcase and continues to impress me with his throwing ability every time I see him live. Possessing a smooth, quick release with excellent arm mechanics. He has such a strong feel for the art of throwing the ball, understanding route running and ball placement. Brett gets the ball out quick with outstanding timing/anticipation and throwing in rhythm. While also getting good velocity, trajectory and superb accuracy consistently putting it right on the receivers hands. Brett is a high academic prospect, that translates that on to the field with a high football IQ & understanding of the game.
I had a great time at the @NPShowcases on Saturday! Thank you to @NPCoachZim and @tdhald for running a fantastic event and to all the coaches who came! @o_martin90 @QB_Factory @QBCoachBaucia @STAFootballDC pic.twitter.com/XxPvvH0Pk0

led St. Albans School to an IAC championship after throwing for over 2,000 yards and 29 touchdowns. Paukstis is a playmaker who consistently keeps plays alive, extending downs and creating opportunities when protection breaks down.
He excels outside the pocket, using his mobility to create space before delivering accurate throws downfield. Paukstis shows the ability to throw receivers open after scrambling and possesses the arm strength to make difficult throws on the run. His combination of production, creativity, and off-platform ability makes him a quarterback capable of elevating an offense in high-leverage moments.

Paukstis completed 17-of-24 passes for 245 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-38 playoff win over Maret last week. For the season, he’s completed 135-of-200 passes for 2,190 yards, 39 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. In the past two games, he’s passed for a little over 500 yards and seven touchdowns. More importantly, he’s committed zero turnovers. That’s always part of a great recipe for winning football. Paukstis is playing his best football of the season at the right time.

Paukstis had an incredible sophomore season, throwing for 3,406 yards and 37 touchdowns and helping lead his team to a state championship. It would be asking a lot for him to repeat or improve upon those numbers, but he’d be the first to tell you he can do it. In three games, with the last two being limited action, he’s completed 30-of-51 passes for 566 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions (all in the first game of the season). Paukstis is now a very experienced quarterback who looks confident and poised in the pocket. He’s very mobile in the pocket and Is able to deliver all kinds of off-platform throws, short, mid-range, and long. Paukstis can make things happen with his feet as well. He can make all of the throws and spreads the football around. Paukstis makes throws into tight spaces on a few of his highlights, which is very impressive. Him and his teammates are off to a strong start.

emerged as one of the most productive quarterbacks in the region during his sophomore season, putting up staggering numbers en route to an All-IAC Team selection. The St. Albans standout threw for 3,406 yards and 37 touchdowns in 2024, leading his team to an IAC Championship and solidifying himself as a rising star in the 2027 class.
With two years of eligibility remaining and a championship already under his belt, Paukstis is positioned to become one of the most highly recruited quarterbacks in the DMV. If he replicates his 2024 performance, expect college coaches across the DMV and even the country to take notice.

Brett is a player I have gotten to see a lot of over this last year and he continues to develop, improve his game and impress me. Leading St. Alban’s to one of the best seasons in some time and a state championship victory. Brett put up outstanding numbers with over 3,400 yards passing, 37 TDs and a 67.5 completion percentage.
A high football IQ player, Brett is able to make precise decisions with the ball, going through his reads and throwing with excellent timing and placement. One thing I’ve noticed with Brett’s game is he is really improving on his overall velocity on his passes. It continues to get better as he is able to spin it and get it on target quickly. A great leader as well, he commands an offense, playing with poise and confidence. Brett is a QB that no one should sleep on this upcoming fall as he looks to take a strong St. Alban’s squat to even more victories.

Brett is a player I have gotten to see live a few times over the last year and he continues to impress me with his play and leadership ability. He lead St. Albans to their first DCSAA Championship this past season and put up huge numbers in doing so. With over 3,400 passing yards and 37 TDs on a 68% completion percentage, Brett is another strong QB prospect in the 2027 Class.
A QB with a high football IQ and sound throwing mechanics, it is no wonder why Brett was able to put together such a strong season. He throws with timing and anticipation, able to layer the ball over defenders and getting great touch on the ball. He gets it up and down with nice velocity, trajectory, and accuracy. Brett is quick to make the correct read and deliver the ball where it needs to be for his receiver to make the play. As Brett continues to develop his arm strength, he will only become a more dangerous passer.
I am excited to watch Brett continue to take the Bulldogs to new heights as he returns to next season with a strong group of players for St. Alban’s.
