In the Trenches: NJ Exposure Elite Linemen

The last in the series covering the top athletes from NJ Exposure, this time we are highlighting both sides of the ball with the offensive and defensive linemen. These two position groups battled it out Saturday morning, attacking each rep and continuously working on getting better by fine tuning details with the coaches. I was impressed with the intensity and competition both sides of the ball showed when they squared up against one another. These are the names to know from NJ Exposure that are top performers in the trenches.    As highlighted in the MVP series, [player_tooltip player_id='1691089' first='Jaxon' last='Pacheco'] put together one of the top performances at the NJ Exposure Series, ultimately separating himself as the top defensive lineman on the day. From the start, his explosiveness off the snap consistently put offensive linemen on their heels, as he was able to beat the lineman off of the line and put them in an unbalanced position. What made his performance especially impactful was the way he combined first step quickness with refined hand technique, giving him multiple ways to win reps. For an interior defender, his mobility and ability to disrupt the pocket were on full display throughout NJ Exposure Series.     Israel showed a lot of promise throughout the NJ Exposure Series event, using his long frame and length to consistently impact reps against offensive linemen. His arms and legs give him clear positional upside, and he flashed explosive hand usage that allowed him to win initial contact and disengage quickly once engaged. Early on, pad level was an area of improvement, as he had some difficulty staying low out of his stance, which limited his leverage in certain reps. However, he made noticeable progress as the day went on, settling in and becoming more effective with each rep. By the end of the event Israel was flashing his best work and showing he could compete with the best O-linemen at the camp.     [player_tooltip player_id='2076780' first='Jason' last='Sica'] emerged as one of the most impactful and adaptable defenders at the NJ Exposure Series, ultimately standing out as the top edge presence in attendance. Jason brings ideal length and frame to the position. His explosiveness off the ball consistently put offensive tackles in recovery mode, as he was able to threaten the edge with speed based rush moves and sharp counters. As a linebacker in pursuit, he showed impressive range and effort, eating up ground with long strides and tracking down plays from the backside while helping funnel ball carriers toward the sideline.     [player_tooltip player_id='1686270' first='Ben' last='Lubin'] was one of the most dominant offensive linemen at the camp, consistently showing the physical tools and technical foundation that separate high level tackle prospects. He operated with balance and a wide, controlled base. Once he established inside hand placement, he rarely gave defenders a clean path, using leverage and strength to neutralize rush attempts and maintain control of the rep. His combination of size and discipline made him a steady presence throughout the day and ultimately earned him Offensive Line MVP honors.     [player_tooltip player_id='2208710' first='Jaleel' last='Perry'] stood out immediately on the offensive line due to his dimensions and frame for the tackle position. He played with a naturally wide, strong base that allowed him to stay balanced through his sets and absorb contact effectively from pass rushers. Even when tested, Jaleel showed the ability to maintain structure and keep defenders from collapsing into his body, using his size to anchor and reset when needed. With his physical tools and developing technique as a pass protector, he projects as a high upside tackle prospect with significant room to grow.     A dominant defender up front, [player_tooltip player_id='2208944' first='Navaughn' last='Lawson'] showed strong versatility throughout the event, lining up both inside and on the edge. Navaughn plays with a powerful lower half that allows him to generate push at the point of attack, often driving offensive linemen backward and collapsing space. Off the snap, he displayed an explosive first step that helped him win initial leverage. Navuaghn's consistent presence in the trenches makes him a difficult matchup across the line. He really has the potential to excel anywhere.
