While we can sometimes operate on a month-to-month basis, we occasionally look at the bigger picture here at Prep Redzone. That means that while we just released a 2028 rankings update, we have an eye on the summer update. We had 48 stock-risers in our spring update, and we may have just as many in the summer. Which guys could find themselves on a future stock-risers list?

Which Players Could Rise in the Next Rankings?

Editor's Note: There are plenty of reasons a guy could already be on this list. Perhaps we've gained some new information in the week since we updated rankings. Other guys have the potential to rise with camp performances this summer. Still others are guys we wanted to move up this time and just didn't find the space to have them rise.

[player_tooltip player_id='2070548' first='Demarcus' last='Simmons'] | DL | West Forsyth

Simmons has popped up peripherally, either in a teammate's film or elsewhere online, prompting me to go back to his film. At his size, I just don't know if we can justify his current ranking, given his production and film. Call this a "market correction," or whatever you'd like, Simmons is a guy who deserves at least a modest bump.

[player_tooltip player_id='2112026' first='Crawford' last='Williams'] | OL | SouthLake Christian

I recently featured SouthLake Christian as an NCISAA team that could improve in 2026, and as part of that, I went back and re-watched the film of several players. Williams' movement skills at his size suggest he should probably move up a bit in the rankings. I think he could be a camp darling who turns heads over the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2154709' first='Reid' last='Herring'] | QB | Randleman

Herring was a late addition to the 2028 rankings, and sometimes when we add guys at the last minute, we naturally put them a bit lower than they probably deserve. As we get the chance to learn more about the likely first-year starter, we like what we're seeing. I think he'll start to create some buzz heading into the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2117028' first='Caedon' last='Cash'] | LB/Edge | Lincolnton

We've heard Cash has gotten bigger and stronger this offseason. That's nice to hear about any prospect, but it's especially important for guys with outstanding profiles aside from measurements. Cash has the look of a potential FCS outside linebacker if he can grow a bit and hit thresholds for the position.

[player_tooltip player_id='1227498' first='Cameron' last='Zoa'] | Edge | Rolesville

There's some very serious buzz coming out of Rolesville from people I trust. When an athletic prospect from that program starts to put it all together, I begin to pay attention. He'll likely play edge, and there are plenty of extra reps to go around following the graduation of several impact seniors. I'm hoping to get out to a Rolesville practice this summer, and there I'll get a great look at the rising junior.

[player_tooltip player_id='2168236' first='Kameron' last='Abrams'] | OL | Dudley

I go back and re-watch film before every stock-riser and new addition piece, and I did that with Abrams before our newly-ranked offensive lineman piece this update. With his size and movement skills, he should probably be ranked higher, even if his film was terrible (which it certainly isn't). Given his athletic profile and past success, the decision to move him up in the summer is pretty much already made.
