The second rankings update of 2025 for the Class of ‘28 is finally here. Over the past week I've been previewing this May update, and I am eager for folks to get caught up on the latest news for the upcoming junior class.

As I mentioned a week ago, a little more than 25 newcomers joined the rankings, along with several current members moving up. I'll be highlighting these players throughout the week, but for now the focus is at the top.

Since the January update, the Top 10 in this class has shuffled around quite a bit. One reason for this movement is that there were a few new members added to this elite group. In addition, the Top 10 as a collective has received major D-I interest this spring. Here's a rundown of the latest edition of the Top 10 for the Class of ‘28.

[player_tooltip player_id='1083570' first='Baron' last='Marshall'] - Blue Valley Northwest, 6'3”, 190, WR

Other recruiting sites may disagree, but through yet another update, Marshall of BVNW is still our No. 1 overall prospect. The Four-Star wideout currently holds the most offers of any player in our Class of ‘28 rankings. I'm very excited to see how he performs during his junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1215772' first='Cannon' last='Zubeck'] - Shawnee Mission East, 6'7”, 265, OL

The new No. 2 overall ranked player and top OL prospect is Zubeck of SME. His stock has been surging in recent months, as he's picked up three offers from SEC programs. His athleticism at his size makes him a highly sought-after offensive tackle. Zubeck has the potential of challenging Marshall for the No. 1 spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1810975' first='Jackson' last='Parker'] - Olathe North, 6'4”, 190, DB

Parker of Olathe North has made a statement this spring, and as a result he's now a Top 3 prospect in the class. The 6-foot-4 safety has competed at a couple national showcases and turned several heads during the process. His recent success has helped him join Marshall and Zubeck as a Four-Star prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1777762' first='Reece' last='Wilmes'] - Lawrence Free State, 6'5”, 270, OL

At No. 4 overall is Wilmes of Free State. He had a very busy month of April, as he went on multiple unofficial visits. Wilmes is inching closer to double digit offers as he was recently offered by Indiana, Kansas State, and Missouri.

[player_tooltip player_id='1655189' first='Remington' last='Merlau'] - Rose Hill, 6'4”, 235, Edge

Rounding off the Top 5 is Merlau of Rose Hill. Despite sliding a few spots in this update, Merlau still holds down the top edge rusher ranking. The Three-Star prospect is now up to five D-I offers, as the Missouri Tigers were the most recent program to offer him.

The rest of the Top 10 includes No. 6: [player_tooltip player_id='2101266' first='Jaylen' last='Johnson'] (Edge) - Bishop Miege, No. 7 [player_tooltip player_id='1637868' first='Thomas' last='Inkelaar'] (OL) - Andover Central, No. 8: [player_tooltip player_id='1433319' first='Cooper' last='Cranston'] (ATH) - Holcomb, No. 9: [player_tooltip player_id='1599229' first='Dallas' last='Gray'] (LB) - Wichita Northwest, and No. 10: [player_tooltip player_id='1638191' first='Chyler' last='Walker'] (TE) - Derby.
