Class of ‘27 Recruiting Buzz: Six Offensive Playmakers

Before camp season is in full swing I wanted to highlight some prospects from the upcoming senior class generating buzz. I did something similar at the end of April, but this time I'll be splitting the prospects up by offense and defense. In this report the focus will be on offensive playmakers.    Over the past month this group of six have received multiple offers, and have been invited to several camp showcases. It's a group with some notable prospects. However, there are a couple players looking to put folks on notice. Catch up on the latest news revolving around these seniors-to-be.    [player_tooltip player_id='934072' first='Holden' last='Applebee'] - Mill Valley, 6'3”, 200, QB   One quarterback from this class I'm excited to see play is Applebee of Mill Valley. It's looking like the keys to the Jaguars' offense will be in his hands this fall. He's surely eager to make a statement ahead of the ‘26 season after missing time due to injury last summer. During May he met with a variety of coaches from both the D-I and D-II level, and has been invited to compete at multiple camps this summer. He's a prospect that's a little unproven, but once recruiters start to see his skillset offers could start rolling in.   [player_tooltip player_id='491873' first='Arieus' last='Finley Jr.'] - Derby, 5'8”, 175, RB   Finley Jr. of Derby has been one of the top recruits in this class since he stepped foot on the varsity field. He's prepping for a highly anticipated senior campaign as he closes out an impressive prep career. He's heading into his senior summer with some more offers under his belt. This month he's received D-I offers from Arkansas State University and Jackson State University.   [player_tooltip player_id='1632879' first='Michael' last='Blount'] - Bishop Miege, 6'3”, 210, TE   The top tight end in the class is getting some long overdue recognition. Recruiters are beginning to take note of the progress Blount has made over the past year. Blount has received four offers during May with his most recent one coming from D-II Northeastern State University. He's a player to look out for this summer.   [player_tooltip player_id='934700' first='Trea' last='Hayes'] - Olathe South, 6'1”, 170, WR   This next prospect is making a case to be in consideration for the Top 100 in the next update. Hayes of Olathe South is poised to emerge as the Falcons' top pass catcher during the ‘26 campaign. Just this month the 6-foot-1 wideout has picked up offers from Butler Community College, Southwest Baptist University, and the University of Sixou Falls. Look for his stock to continue to rise.   Wide Receiver Duo   Lastly is a pair of receivers capable of being the top duo in the EKL this fall. The duo consists of the Lockett brothers from Blue Valley. Much like they did last fall, these two are sure to put on a show this summer during camp season. This month [player_tooltip player_id='1263895' first='Jordan' last='Lockett'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1341050' first='Jacob' last='Lockett'] have received offers from Northeastern State University, Pitts State, Southeast Missouri State, Southwest Baptist, and Washburn. One lucky program may be able to land the brothers during the '27 signing period.
