X Film Room: High Upside Seniors

He's a talented two-way athlete with elite speed and athleticism. The running back position suites him the best in my opinion, as he possesses good vision and solid contact balance. His low center of gravity and shifty change of direction makes him extremely slippery. He hits his top-end speed quickly and can outrun pursuit angles. I am really curious to see how he fits in at King after his transfer. He's nasty, possesses a high motor and understands how to use his hands to win leverage and create chaos in the backfield. As a pass rusher he is slippery and is proficient in getting off blocks, but I think his run stopping ability is far and away his best trait. He is able to control his gap, create a stalemate at the point of attack, and side step into the ball carriers path. Once he gets his hands on the ball, it's all over. It could be the elite frame. It could be his brute strength and ability to pack a punch. It couple be his great ability in the passing game. All of those things would be correct, but one thing that I see time and time again on his film will make college coaches salivate. This dude can pull, and he blocks in space extremely well. At his size, he makes it look easy getting through the gap and locking on in the open field. Great frame, superior arm and great decision making are hard to find, and finding them in one spot is even harder. He doesn't struggle anywhere in particular. He's poised, can make throws to every part of the field, and can move and buy time when necessary. I think his upside comes from the way he has specialized and really worked on his skill on the edge. He has great bend, great use of hands and has continued to evolve physically. Whether it's with speed or power, Leland makes tackles work for every second of the rep. His motor is there and ability to swipe and get free is far beyond most defensive linemen in the class. His hard work is paying off and I truly believe Korona will have a phenomenal senior season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
