Still digging my way out of my notes from last weekend's Garden State Gridiron 7v7, we still have plenty of talent to highlight from the 15u tournament. Specifically with the quarterbacks, some of the best in the region were in attendance. Showing smart decision making, timing, and patience in the pocket, each of the QBs set themselves apart from the pack and took advantage of the opportunity they had last weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1638744' first='Looch' last='Tarone'], the Dreamchasers 15u signal caller and Bergen Catholic 2030 QB, showed why he's a name to keep tracking after last weekend's PRZ 7v7. His processing speed jumped out right away, consistently making quick decisions and getting the ball out on time. Tarone wasn't afraid to attack tight windows either, driving passes in with velocity and confidence. While there weren't many opportunities to see him stretch the field vertically, his command of the short and intermediate game steadily improved as the day went on. Even when a few throws got away from him, he was able to reset quickly and responding with sharper, more decisive reps.

https://twitter.com/JonDavalosFB/status/2048375167093469658

RJ is a quarterback I've come across at multiple PRZ events, and each time he walks off the field reinforcing that he's a name worth remembering. He brings a tall, sturdy presence to the position and pairs it with reading the coverage quickly, allowing him to move through reads efficiently. One area that stood out for improvement was his footwork, as his feet would occasionally stall while scanning the field. Still, RJ flashed high level ability, dropping in a well placed wheel route away from coverage and also connecting on a deep ball for a score early in the day. What adds even more value is his versatility, contributing at linebacker as well and nearly coming down with an interception late in one of their game.

Vincenzo Mullet, the Buffalo Elite quarterback and currently ranked as the No. 3 QB in the state, delivered one of the more dynamic performances of the weekend. His ability to throw on the move stood out immediately, consistently making high level plays by rolling out to create his own throwing lanes. Mullet spins a tight spiral and has no issue driving the ball across the middle with pace, but what separated him was the touch he showed on layered throws at different levels of the field. With his mobility and arm talent working together, he's a dangerous quarterback who can stress a defense in multiple ways.

Representing North Jersey's Hail Mary Academy, [player_tooltip player_id='1630185' first='Alex' last='Porter'] shows clear upside with his arm strength. He occasionally short armed the ball, but was still able to get the ball where it needed to be. Alex still managed to stand out with some of the best ball placement on Saturday, consistently putting the ball in safe, catchable spots. He did a great job keeping throws away from danger, especially when working the middle of the field. Even with his receivers struggling to create separation, he was still able to find ways to produce and keep drives moving.

Still digging my way out of my notes from last weekend's Garden State Gridiron 7v7, we still have plenty of talent to highlight from the 15u tournament.
