Representing North Jersey’s Hail Mary Academy, Alex Porter Alex Porter 6'2" | 158 lbs | QB/ATH North Arlington Vikings (Youth Program) | 2029 NJ shows clear upside with his arm strength. He occasionally short armed the ball, but was still able to get the ball where it needed to be. Alex still managed to stand out with some of the best ball placement on Saturday, consistently putting the ball in safe, catchable spots. He did a great job keeping throws away from danger, especially when working the middle of the field. Even with his receivers struggling to create separation, he was still able to find ways to produce and keep drives moving.

Alex is another young quarterback who checks all the boxes when it comes to leadership and next-level traits. He has a quick release with real velocity behind the ball and moves with confidence in the pocket, constantly keeping his feet active and ready to slide or adjust when pressure comes. Alex’s drop-back is crisp and efficient, showing poise and a high football IQ well beyond his years.

Porter is a relative unknown to me – granted I am not immersed in New Jersey’s middle school football scene. A North Arlington youth program product, he already stands at 6’2″ and should be more well advanced relative to his peers. With all the hype surrounding the others, I am curious to see how Porter stacks up against the “headliners.”
