New Jersey Offseason Reports: Part II

<p>As we dive deeper into the to spring, more and more time will be dedicated to breaking down 7v7s, field drills, and weight room feats. There is a host of players in NJ that have been grinding all offseason, and these articles are designed to show not only the players that are putting in the extra work, but excelling at it. Keep an eye on the players mentioned in this series, because they are bound to blow up.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Jasiah is a player that stands out as soon as he steps onto the field. With a recent showing at the Prep Redzone Who's Next, Jasiah put his speed, quickness and finesse on full display. While I didn't get the chance to cover the D-lineman that weekend, I knew Jasiah was balling out and deserved another look back at his film from the previous year.</p>   <p>Jasiah has a relentless motor with the mindset to come in off of the edge with an aggressive attitude. He is one of the those edge rushers that can blow up the play before it ever gets started. I am thoroughly impressed with not only the speed he can maintain off of the line, but the arsenal of pass rush moves Jasiah is equipped with. Nico was clearly itching to be out on the field, missing out on the competing against the best in the state. </p>   <p>However, Nico still deserves recognition even though we didn't get the chance to see him on the field that Saturday morning. Looking back on his 2025 highlights, you can tell Nico is an elite pass catcher in the making. Nico has great size for his age, towering over the DBs he'd face off against. What's really impressive to see is that height doesn't seem to slow him down one bit. Nico showed again and again that he has a burst off of the line that catches corners off guard, giving Nico the ability to streak on down the field unguarded. To go with his downfield speed, Nico's hand skills hint at a player that can come down with nearly any ball. He has strong hands and can make the contested catch, while also making adjustments when the ball isn't placed in an easy location. Dangerous on both sides of the ball, Naki has the dimensions to go full time as a wide receiver or DB and find immense success. </p>   <p>Nakai's naturally landing spot may be on offense, where his shiftiness and elusive moves will force mismatch after mismatch for opposing defenders. With an elite background in wrestling, you know Nakai's hand strength will give him an edge on the 50/50 ball to snag it away from defenders. A sport like wrestling also translates over elite body control, giving Nakai the ability to contort to make a catch when it doesn't look like it is in range. Daveon has that size advantage that every high school coach dreams of for a WR1. Towering, strong and explosive, all are characteristics that set Daveon apart from the competition. </p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Daveon is another young athlete that will flourish on either side of the ball. I expect to hear his name often in high school when he crosses into the end zone or racks up tackles behind the line when he comes screaming upfield from the backer position.
