Illinois High School Spring Showcase: Top Back Seven Defenders

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>***Use Code “ScottyB30” for 30% off your subscription***</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Redzone Illinois was at Collinsville High School for the Illinois High School Spring Showcase featuring prospects from the metro east and southern Illinois.&nbsp; It was a great event with a ton of college level prospects putting their skills on display in front of college coaches.&nbsp; Here is a look at the <strong>Top Back Seven Defenders</strong> at the event!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Linebackers</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2140317' first='Carson' last='Fox'] (Olney – 2028)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fox presents good size at 6'2” 200 pounds.&nbsp; He has a thick frame and takes good angles.&nbsp; Coming off a productive year for the Tigers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2084252' first='Hunter' last='Valentine'] (Pinckneyville – 2028)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Valentine is an inside linebacker that takes good angles and is sound fundamentally.&nbsp; At 6'0” 200 pounds he is a high IQ backer that makes plays going forward and backward from the second level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2105120' first='Luke' last='Ramirez'] (Edwardsville – 2027)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ramirez is a linebacker that 6'1” 185 pound linebacker that had an impressive interception downfield high pointing the ball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Defensive Backs</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Anthony Brown (Collinsville – 2027)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brown was the best defensive back at the camp.&nbsp; The 5'11” 154 pound corner was elite during the drill work.&nbsp; Super fluid getting in and out his breaks.&nbsp; Good length with broad shoulders and a projectable frame. Really like the movement skills and is super fluid with everything he did.&nbsp; Super easy in the back pedal.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Dawson Anderson (Collinsville – 2029)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Anderson is a 5'10” 165 pound corner that has a nice frame that he can continue to add strength.&nbsp; Super quick getting in and out cuts.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1346038' first='Jordan' last='Williams'] (Belleville East – 2027)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 5'11” 170 pound defensive back had a really impressive interception on one of the top quarterbacks in the event.&nbsp; Jumped the route over the middle driving hard on the ball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Ty Willis (Belleville West – 2027)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wills goes 5'11” 175 pounds.&nbsp; Super long arms and fluid movement skills.&nbsp; Smooth back pedal and went through drill work with ease!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Christian Miller (O'Fallon – 2027)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At 6'2” 180 pounds Miller has a projectable frame with excellent length.&nbsp; Good movement skills.&nbsp; Lot of upside to dream on here with the size and athleticism.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Daniel Shropshire (O'Fallon – 2028)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This 5'8” 135 pound defensive back is small, but super tough.&nbsp; Made a nice play at the end of the night batting down a pass in traffic with his hands without getting interference.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
