Weekend 4 of the SKLZ Speed Challenges brought us to Tennessee, where we got a chance to see a few of the fastest athletes from around the region.
Ahmad Chambers
Ahmad Chambers
Sophomore RB Ahmad Chambers showcased his D1 speed, winning our SKLZ Speed Challenge in Tennessee with a blazing 4.42 40.
With offers from Syracuse and Temple already under his belt, what we saw from Chambers tells us there will be plenty more where that came from. He has a great frame and good lateral quickness to pair with his speed in the open field.
He'll be a name to watch in New Jersey next season.
Dontaye Day-Thompson
Dontaye Day-Thompson
Don'taye was just edged out by Ahmad for the top 40 time on the weekend, but that doesn't mean we should overlook his electric 4.46 time.
Day-Thompson is a sophomore WR with great feet and hands to pair with his next-level speed. He used that speed to his advantage this past season, hauling in 10 touchdowns and making several big-time plays on special teams as well.
A talented multi-sport athlete (who had a 50-point game on the court this year), Dontaye is likely to have several options when it comes to playing at the next level and we look forward to following his journey
Make it a 3-peat for Atlantic City! Day, the senior from Atlantic City, joined his two teammates to round out our top 3 with a 4.48. Does Atlantic City HS have the fastest team in the country?
Jaylen is an electric wideout who posted 900 receiving yards and 10 TDs for ACHS this season. While he's an incredible athlete on the field, the track may be where his future lies.
Day recently ran a 10.58 100M, good for the 11th fastest time in the history of South Jersey. Regardless of the sport he chooses, there's no doubt Jaylen has college-level athlete written all over him
