It is no secret that Region 3 in the 6A classification is one of the toughest in the entire state and a large part of that comes from the factories of young talent developed in the Rutherford County public schools.

That means each program in the region have to continually develop talent to simply stay afloat and the coaching staffs that can acquire and bring along the talent have made the furthest pushes in the postseason.

With young talent being developed at every turn, there are breakout stars every single season and this fall will be no different with a strong group of talented 2029 prospects that have the traits, ability and opportunity to have big seasons this as sophomores.

Rockvale 2029 QB/ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1553521' first='Arden' last='Lewis']

Rockvale went 4-6 last year, but the foundation was beginning to be laid with new head coach James Counce and year two should be more reflected of how bright the future is for the Rockets. All of that starts with versatile playmaker [player_tooltip player_id='1553521' first='Arden' last='Lewis'], who will be starting at quarterback for the team this season.

He is a dynamic playmaker with dual-threat abilities that can make a play at any point in time. WIth an established senior quarterback running the offense, Lewis rotated in at receiver and showed very promising upside at the position and that has translated to his scrambling ability when playing quarterback.

However, the lefty has the ability to distribute the ball to his fellow playmakers as well and keeps his eyes downfield when rolling out to extend the play. He gives Rockvale a dynamic presence at the quarterback position that it has simply not had and will be a prospect that the program can build around for the future.

Riverdale 2029 RB [player_tooltip player_id='1641069' first='Jordan' last='Turner']

[player_tooltip player_id='1641069' first='Jordan' last='Turner'] is an exciting young tailback at Riverdale that shined on the freshman team last season and will be ready for a step up in competition.

He has a good, strong build that is listed at 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds and he uses that frame to run behind his pads. He is excellent when cutting and it is easy to project him as a natural downhill one-cut runner at the next level.

He has good speed to pair with the size and cutting, which allows him to make big plays happen whether he is working between the tackles or cutting to the outside. With Riverdale attempting to find new running back options, I would not be surprised if he is getting a large workload with the majority of red zone snaps by seasons end.

Blackman 2029 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1633823' first='Jamison' last='Beshearse']

[player_tooltip player_id='1633823' first='Jamison' last='Beshearse'] is a newer player to my radar that immediately caught my attention in offseason workouts against some top competition.

He immediately stands out with his good size and has the natural movement skills, strong athleticism and playmaking ability to complement. He does not look out of place when competing against older competition in 7v7 settings and the mentioned workouts and has a strong baseline skillset to keep developing further upon.

While it remains seen how it will translate to the gridiron, Beshearse is a prospect that is quietly a strong breakout candidate for a new coaching staff that will be looking for playmakers to emerge.

[player_tooltip player_id='1305173' first='Trenton' last='Gibbs'] is an athletic lineman prospect with solid size that can fill on either side of the ball and find a way to contribute.

He is a natural defensive lineman that is best at working upfield from a variety of alignments and should be able to see more action on that side of the ball as he continues to add weight to his frame.

His primary role as a freshman last season was as an extra blocker in the option offense, often playing a H-back or tight end role and pulling as the lead blocker for his running back. By the end of the season, he was seeing some guard reps and was a noticeable plus in the second half of the state championship game.

Rockvale 2029 DL [player_tooltip player_id='1648774' first='Clayton' last='Jackson']

[player_tooltip player_id='1648774' first='Clayton' last='Jackson'] is a very exciting rising star on a defensive line unit filled with high-profile players. He developed strongly on the freshman team last season and has put together how to use all of his exciting tools.

He was listed at 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds last season, but he looks noticeably bigger than that now and plays with good leverage, which allows him to control the tempo at all times from his defensive end spot. While opposing offensive lines will have to place their focus on the interior of Rockvale's defensive line this season, expect Jackson to break out and be a big-time playmaker off the edge.

[player_tooltip player_id='1650305' first='Keshaun' last='Norris'] is a big time playmaker and showcased that ability consistently for the freshman team at Riverdale last season. He has the skillset to make that ability translate immediately to the varsity level and could be a player that breaks through in some capacity during this season.

While he can make plays at both receiver and defensive back, the clear path to the field is in the secondary as Riverdale is loaded with offensive weapons and has a big need at the cornerback position. At 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, he already has excellent size for his age with the raw playmaking ability that could force its way onto to the field at some point and be impossible to take off.

While his primary position might be safety, he will have the opportunity to compete for a starting corner job right away and has the size, physicality, natural athleticism and ball skills to stick on the outside while providing consistent play.
