As they gain experience and varsity competition, this group of signal-callers are worth tracking as their games develop and take shape.</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">A lot to like about Hood's early skillset blending his natural ability and mechanics. 6'0” 165 lbs. he operates as a play creator that thrives off script extending plays and improvising when protection breaks down. Good pocket demeanor with smooth footwork, he stays in rhythm and under control through his drop back and delivery. Maintains posture with an effortless over the top release. Natural arm strength gives him the ability to throw on the move or from off balanced platforms without sacrificing velocity or accuracy. Athletically, he possesses the mobility to escape the pocket and turn broken plays into positive gains both through the air or with his legs. He's a touch passer that can make the right read and layer the ball in second level windows. Difficult to defend given his ability as ball carrier on designed runs and broken plays. He's quick and elusive in tight spaces and can separate with burst in the open field. Would like to see him extend his throwing motion to boost arm strength and velocity but is an outstanding playmaker and multi-dimensional theat. Shows he can mix up velocities to throw a catchable ball and be on target to all areas of the field. Like his ability to anticipate throws and hit receivers coming out of the break. Demonstrates that he can navigate pressure while keeping his eyes downfield and throw on the run to either direction. He's a savvy QB that is a creative playmaker using both his arm and legs to keep the offense moving. Can drop back in the pocket and deliver on time with accuracy and velocity using a quick release, escape pressure and throw off platform on the run, or use his speed to take off for explosive plays. Great feel for the game and command of the position for a freshman. Athletic with his footwork and over the top release that is compact and quick to get the ball out. Dual sport athlete with track speed that translates well to the football field. He's an efficient passer with high level accuracy and pocket mechanics. Clean drop back landing with a well-balanced platform and strong base to drive the ball at the short/intermediate levels or push it vertically. The ball jumps out of his hand with velocity using good rotation in the hips and shoulders. Shows he can stand in the pocket under pressure, absorb contact, and still deliver an accurate ball with defenders in his face. Demonstrates an early ability to manipulate coverage with his eyes and work through a progression. Demonstrates a lot of key traits for the position with his natural passing ability, athleticism as a ball carrier, and high football IQ. His confidence in his game shows in his instinctual playmaking ability and when taking calculated risks making throws into tight coverage or downfield shots. Demonstrates quick processing ability to make decisive reads and pull the trigger. A plus athlete that can extend plays, create second chance throwing lanes, or tuck it and run.
